To STD or not to STD... that is the question!

HELP! I'm on this "people-dont-care-about-anything-anyway-so-why-waste-money-on-stuff" kick lately and I really dont want to waste money on STDs. Do you think it would be "wrong" of us not to send these out?

NO! It's totally up to you - I personally love them because I'm a huge planner - however some people think they are a waste of time. What about ordering postcards on vistaprint? Easy, free (except for shipping) and you're done!! My only regret is I wish I wouldn't have sent me to everyone. Now I can't cut down my list.

How does vistaprint work? Anything you get is free? No matter what size?

I don't think I am sending them out. I am thinking of doing some sort of am email with a link to the website so everyone knows the date.... but I haven't been very motivated either, I have been supposed to do that for weeks.

I'd say cut 'em off your list.  STDs are one of the MANY items on my post-wedding "would not have done had I thought about it" list.  You can spread the word about date/wedding website by word of mouth.  Or, a friend of mine just did an e-vite STD which was really cute and creative and...FREE ;-) Of course, I loved my STDs when I sent them, so I'm knocking them...just don't think they are "necessary."

As a guest, I've gotten a few magnet STDs, and I thought they were a cute reminder on our fridge (and also what we decided to send).  I think it's a great reminder, esp if they have websites with information for OOT guests.  But if you decided not to, I don't think it would be wrong.

It's definitely not "WRONG" to not send them but if you hvae a lot of out of town guests, It can definitely be helpful!Vista print is def the way to go for inexpensive way to do it!

the only reason i'm doing them is because my wedding is on a holiday weekend. otherwise, it would DEFINITELY be cut out of our budget, and we're only sending them to family we absolutely are sure about inviting, not friends or extra family.

I didn't do them bc of my short timeline...I don't think its necessary. I think its nice, but not a necessity!

its not wrong not to send them out but its cute, really i though about not doing them but after i did it and everyone saw the website and stuff, everyone was really excited about the wedding.. I did mines mini magnets so it wont cost to much and they came out super cute eventhough i can bearly see my face in the pic but who cares everyone went straight to our wedding website and they love it posting stuff and looking at upcoming events... i got a coupon from magnet street i got 30 STD's for under  $55 including Shipping i though it was worth it, i think!!

vista has constant specials going on. I did my STD's as postcards and they came out free. the only thing i paid was like 10 dollars for shipping. I have a lot of OOT guests and they need more than just 2 months to make arrangements for plane tickets, hotels, car rentals etc. so i definetely felt the need to send these out to them.

We took the "green approach" and sent out a cute evite to all our friends!  This has been very helpful too on list management, because we set it so no one can view the list. We can add guests from our maybe list as any Nos come in.  It's helpful to obtain addresses from friends for the formal invite to follow(we asked they add it in their response), and we included helpful links for booking the hotel rooms and to our wedding website.Best of all, it's FREEEEE

Thanks for the help ladies! I appreciate it!! Since we have no out of towners I think maybe online would be the way to go. Which really stinks because I loveeeee to be creative and cute but online it is! :)
