stupid question?

it never occurred to me the possibility of "cold" weather in Miami during my wedding (Nov. 14th).  but after today's cold front . . . umm, my dress is a cocktail length.  what if it's too cold?  should i go ahead and look for a longer dress just in case???  leggings won't go with the dress.  not only are they not nice for a wedding, but the ruffles at the bottom of the dress call for very simple and clean accessories.  opinions???F*CK!

Rock your dress in fabulousness!!!!My MOHs wedding was in February on a day like today.  I was freezing in my strapless dress.  She was running around at the reception and didn't even realize it was cold.  I think the emotion will keep you warm. Maybe  you could get a cute bolero (like people that live where it is really cold) that you can take off once you go inside to the reception. I'm assuming your ceremony is on the outside patio of the Sonesta. I don't remember.

I think you will be fine, once the sun comes out in the afternoon it will be perfect for your cocktail dress :) plus all the walking around, dancing, etc that you'll be doing... I think you will be perfect!

The ceremony is actually going to be inside the reception.  It's a surprise for everyone (mostly).  First we're doing cocktail hour, which we are attending.  That is on the terrace at the Sonesta.  8th floor, open air.  Then everyone will be ushered into the ballroom for dinner and dancing.  But as soon as everyone's seated, my dad's walking in with me and FI and I will be joined in union by a non-denom. officiant, while everyone's seated at their tables.  The bubbly will be served as the ceremony is finishing and everyone is expected to toast.  Or something along the lines. It was the only way we could fit a last minute ceremony into the event.  We were gonna have it at the courthouse a couple days before but my parents insisted otherwise.  I have ordered a bolero in case it was a little chilly, but I am very sensitive to the cold.  Now I'm freaking out.  Also, we'll be doing our wedding pictures prior to cocktail hour and they'll mostly be outside, I'm guessing . . ?

Almost sure cocktail starts at 5pm.  (Yep, I'm excited about the bolero!)

That's true.  It will warm up later on and we'll be sweating in a few hours.  Plus, I think it will start to get colder once the sun goes down so if the cocktail is early afternoon and done by 7ish, I think you'll be good.

Yes, it makes sense.  We'll be inside after 6pm.  The cold air won't get to us.  It    will    be   OK . . .Hah

You will be completely fine. Living in Miami for 25 years, I KNOW the chances are highly against a cold front. Especially in November.  Usually, the chances are better as a really hot day. No buying bolero

You could also rent a couple of heaters...the tall, nice ones they use at restaurants on the beach. You could put two in the cocktail hour. I've seen them used for ceremonies, too. I would ask the Sonesta to see if they have a contact...if not, let me know and I'll find out for you...hope this helps!

Between the alcohol, excitement, dancing, etc. you'll be fine.  Plus, your man can keep you warm.  ;)

You girls are great.  I guess I was freaking out over nothing.  I have the feeling my nerves will only worsen in the next few weeks!
