Need a photographer and a dj on a budget!

Hi everyone - I am looking for a photographer and dj for my wedding on 6/5/10. I was hoping to spend $1,000 on the photographer and $600 on the dj...any advice or is this not realistic?

Yes, I think it is doable for both. I believe Ashley Colhour and Joseph Casal have packages under $1000 for photography. Some DJs that should be able to work with you are Ubi, Vision DJs and Liquid DJs. These photogs and DJs are well-known on this board but there are tons more out there, too. I think you should be able to stay within  your budget for both vendors. Remember to negotiate, negotiate, negotiate!! Also, book them this year to lock in 2009 pricing. HTH!

It's totally realistic!  We are using Vision DJ's (lots on girls on here are using them).  I think we are paying around $595 for 4hrs.  As for a photographer, I know my photographer is under $1000 and does awesome work.  Her name is Amber with Amber Photography World  www.amberphotographyworld.com.  I believe Joseph Casal, another favorite on the board, has packages starting at $1000.HTH!  GL!

totally doable... I'm in the same boat as you... my budgets for photog and dj are the same as yours. I just haven't booked anyone yet. I really LOVE joseph casal's work. I've met with jorge from vision dj's and he's really nice. His packages start at $600. Infinity Sound Production DJ also starts at $595 and they're really good, too.

Check out beyouimages.com she has packages start at 900 for 6 hrs I believe... she'll also work with ur budget. Also for dj's ubi and visions r 595 for 4 hrs additional hrs are extra ubi I think is 100 for extra hrs I am not too sure about vision. Gl hth let us know who u decide!

Well don't I feel jipped. I hired jorge for 695 for 5 hours, he told me he was having a special one hour free b/c he normally charges 695 for 4 hours. Not a happy camper

Steph, The 595 he said was a bridal show special. that regularly was 695 or something? I can't remember... and for additional hours it was 150 i think. you are actually getting a better price than if you got this special and added an hour. so don't feel jipped!

Well I spoke with Jorge on the phone last week and he said for 4 hours it was $600. And then I met him at a bridal show and he said the bridal show special was $595. HA!
