Sandals Antigua ladies

Pics are up from all days except today. Sorry I haven't posted in a while but it seems I've come down with food poioening.

Here's the low down (mini review) since we are leaving tomorrow.

Of the three Sandals we have now been to this one is the worst.  The food here is horrible (except Marios which is Italian). The food is just laden with grease, butter and salt.

The room is pretty but small (we had a way bigger room in Mexico and with better amenities for just a bit more money).

The beach is narrow with a ton of chairs lined up.There is very little shade anywhere on the beach and in order to score a shaded area you either have to have butler service (they can reserve a seat for you) or go down very early and put your towl on the chair. Today we made the mistake of not getting down to the beach till 10:45am there was not one chair available nor where there any at the pool area (it's a huge pool area too).

There are very few nightly activities (no dance club) unless you like jazz music (live band) or very old "rock" music (70's).
The crowd here is about our parents age (60's) which could just be the fact that it's March and not high wedding/honeymoon season or it could always be this way,who knows.

The activities off the resort are boring unless you book with a vendor just don't get nabbed by Sandals as I'm sure they will throw a fit 'cause they aren't getting the money for it. The tours through Sandals are the same ones over and over ie land tours take you to the same places, sea tours take you to the same places.

We've done two tours. Extreme Circumnav (you have to book though Sandals now but I was lucky enough to book it through the local tour group before a contract was made to be signed with Sandals). The tour was amazing and we learned a lot of history and saw some pretty cool sights.

The other activity we did was we rented a car and drove the island on our own. We had a blast! We really recommend if you are coming here to do it. St. Johns is a bit of a pain to navigate as there really aren't any road signs but once you are though there it's easy to figure out where to go. We saw some of the most beautiful contry side we have ever seen. By the way, they do drive on the left side of the road here which isn't to hard to get the hang of.

Other than that there isn't much to do but sit on the beach or at the pool and drink (which of course I couldn't do because of the food posioning). Also, on a side note of the uhh..tummy issues I'm having. If you come here or any AI for that matter DO NOT forget to bring Pepto or Immodium. I fogot it and had to buy it here. A tiny bottle costs $12 (I'm on my second one).

All in all, sorry Sandals but this one gets a big thumbs down from me. I've actually never on any of our trips been happy to say we are leaving tomorrow.
