Hotel Blocks?? Fort Lauderdale Beach Hotels

Hi girls- Where did everyone get there hotel block? I have a lot of guests coming from out of town and a lot them have never been to Fort Lauderdale. I was thinking I should get a hotel block on Fort Lauderdale beach or by the boardwalk. My family isn't wealthy, so I was hoping to get something under $150/night. Do you usually have to give a deposit to reserve a hotel? Does anyone have any recommendation or know places that have great group rates? Let me know. Thanks for your help - Ali

    Hi Ali! We did hotel blocks at our venue W Hotel for $209/night and also at Beach Place Marriott for $159/night. That was the lowest I saw for April. Keep in mind that hotel on the beach are always going to be pricer than others. We did not need to give a deposit and Marriott even gave us a cancellation date. Some hotels will make you pick up rooms that are not booked. Like if you block 10 rooms, they'll say you have to guarantee 8 of those get booked, but if only 7 do, you're responsible for the 8th. The Marriott did not do that. HTH!

    i did not block at the beach so i'm not sure how helpful this will be but....i blocked at the Riverside Hotel on Las Olas in Fort Lauderdale.  i booked it through hotelplanner.com and i got a low rate of $119.00 per night in the middle of March which is high season.  hth!!

    Thats a really good price for the Marriott... Thanks! I was thinking Riverside Hotel, b/c that is closer to my venue (Leiser Opera Center), but I thought it was $200/night. Thanks for the help! :)

    use www.hotelplanner.com - best website EVER!!!!!! it helps you get group discounts on hotels!!I have a book at Embassy Suites Fort Lauderdale on 17th Street for $179 a night and Bahia Mar for $99 a night!! :)

    I stayed at the Hilton Ft. Lauderdale Hotel. Jenise recommended hotelplanner.com It's awesome. You put the location and criteria you want and how much you want to pay. GL!

    It is not by the beach but the Hampton Inn Fort Lauderdale Downtown City Center (http://www.hamptoninnfortlauderdale.com/) is a very nice hotel that should be in your price range... And it has breakfast included... :)
