Hi ladies,

I wrote a post a little while ago, but not sure if it went through I haven't seen it.  But I just got engaged a few weeks ago and I am completely clueless on planning a wedding!

We want to have our wedding in Miami during the summer of 2011. Its extremely hot here in Miami in the summer, but we figured it would be less expensive since we have famly traveling in from europe and diff. states. Please if anyone has any reception venue recommendations it would be so helpful.  We're looking for something very romantic, beautiful, and with a nice view since its going to be inside. here's some venues we're looking into...

You can try looking into Rusti Pelican, Double Tree Grand hotel on Bayshore, I love my hotel, but it has no window (JW Marriot).  GL!

I actually got married this past summer at Grove Isle.  Summer is low season for weddings in Miami (August being the lowest) so you can really get some good prices with vendors.

Vizcaya get's really pricey really quick.

We were really extraordinarily happy with Grove Isle.  It was beautiful, the food was exactly what you'd expect from one of the top restaurants in Miami, and Christian, the event coordinator was phenomenal.

Congrats! Where in Europe is your family coming from? I have some coming in from Germany & Poland and they're all so excited for their "vacation" lol.

A hotel ballroom would probably be a good idea so you don't have to worry about everyone traveling, they could just stay at that hotel (and you can always give them options for cheaper hotels within walking distance.)

Vizcaya is beautiful and so is the Old Spanish Monastery! I had a friend who just got married at the Monastery recently and said the experience was wonderful.
