First time on here...Hello!

Well I just joined and saw that they had a board on here...which is great cause where better to get good advice then other brides!! Laughing

So my wedding Date is March 12, 2011 and I have not done anything. Which makes me feel bad Ive seen other peoples profile pics on here and it seems they have atleast some stuff..engament pics...etc... I did not think I had to do the engagment pics until way later. Also my check list says to get my dress...but isnt it way too early? What if I lose weight (i hope) or gain (which i hope i dont lol)...I'm lost.

Also I know Imma "DIY" so if anyone has any tips they are well appriciated...We just moved out and are in a budget...
And we are planning a Beach wedding with a reception to follow in a banquet,..again if anyone knows any beaches I can go see about please let me know. Sealed

From some of you farther along where do I start????  Undecided

THANKS!!!!!!

    Hi, welcome and congratulations!

Use the check list as a guideline, don't swear by it or you'll drive yourself crazy! lol.

Most of the girls start of by choosing the look and feel of their weddings. The colours, the theme if you have one. Then the venue, according to your tentative guestlist, and the overall feel of your big day. Don't worry, planning will come naturally!

And in any case you'll have this board :) Happy planning!

    Hi Evelyn,

I'm Jen and I am doing Beach Theme too so if you have any questions, I would be glad to help! My email is DensJen@gmail.com. I haven't done a planning bio yet (bad jen), but if you email me, I will send you my wedding website info and I can show you what I have done.

I also have a very small budget (I'm almost ashamed to say how small) so if you are trying to keep costs down, I can help you out there too!

The girls on this board are great and lots of fun! Listen to Jennius, don't let TK (or anyone) dictate what you have to do when. It's a good guideline, but should not be viewed as anyones "Wedding Bible."

Glad to have you aboard and look forward to sharing ideas with you!

Don't worry about the schedule.  The first thing you need to do is figure out where you want your venue (based on the style, location and budget).  The Knot schedule is a guideline, but do whatever you want to do.  But, don't forget that vendors do get booked, so if you start early, the easier it is to get the ones you want.  I am semi on a budget, and a photographer I wanted is already booked.  I couldn't believe it.  I thought I had plenty of time.  By the way, I am getting married 3 weeks after you and the only thing I have confirmed is a venue.  Good luck!

welcome! and Congrats! you have plenty of time to do the stuff you need to do.  You have a date which is the first big thing, you know the theme another big thing, now its locations caterer and such! You can find really great stuff on Budget & my best advice with DIY is give yourself ample time so you can step away if you need to! =)

Welcome and congrats! Don't worry there is time for everything. You don't really need to take the engagements pics until you are ready to do Save the Dates, and you don't even really need them for that, you could always just use them at your wedding for a sign in book or blow one up big and have peoploe sign the mat.
