This doesn't have anything to do with this board...just wanted to vent my frustrations...I just don't understand why some women on other boards feel that it is ok to personally attack or name call.  Besides this board, I like to go on two other boards on this site.  I recently saw something on one of the other boards that I didn't like because I felt that instead of answering someone's question by giving advice, a couple of the other women were calling the original poster a name.  I obviously think that it is ok to state your opinion about a particular situation or question that someone discusses, but to say something personal about a someone that you don't know in "real life" is messed up.  Anyway, I expressed my thoughts about it being wrong to name call only to be given a list of excuses as to why it was justified.  Are you kidding me?  Isn't there a huge national campaign against bullying?  Why would a grown-a#*  woman want to behave like she's in middle school?  I have seen so many women be sarcastic or say things about the other women's grammar, spelling, etc...basically calling others idiots.  I guess I don't get why they can't keep those comments to themselves.  I just don't understand the need for personal attacks.  I laugh because I feel that people like to hide behind their keyboards.  If it's something that you wouldn't say to the person's face, then why type it?  If some of the things that I've seen were said to me in my face, someone would either get an earful or a smack.  #Realtalk

You rant makes a lot of sense, and you're totally right. Unfortunately, the internet brings out the worst in people. The anonymity of the online world allows people to say things they would NEVER say face to face, not even over the telephone. It is a license to speak your mind, and that crosses over into name calling VERY easily for a lot of people. The other thing that humans do for some reason is get 'team attached' - a perfect example is people who love iphones and the people who love android phones. My husband gets into CRAZY fights with people (and has even lost friends because of it!) in that whole 'my choice is great, your choice was stupid' nonsense. We;re not immune, and the same thing happens here with planners and photographers and florists. People cant understand why you would use THAT caterer when they CLEARLY told you that theirs is the best, so therefore you must be an idiot. Welcome to the world of humans and our werid foibles!

The best you can do is conduct YOURSELF well and hope it rubs off. If someone else plays those dumb games, you just have to try to ignore it and not let it ruin your mood!
