This might be a REALLY dumb question - Re: Placecards

So we are doing an escort table with frames that will direct guests to their seat, then there will be individual place cards waiting for them at their place setting.

I don't have to put their table number on the place card at all, right? Just their name?

I was just realizing that since we already have like 40 positive RSVPs back, we could go ahead and start working on the place cards (as long as we don't need to put their table number on the) gradually as we get RSVPs in since we are DIY-ing these....we bought some cheap ivory and silver DIY cards at Jo-Anns and will prettify them with ribbons and these cute silver bow charms that I bought off of Etsy.

  • I don't think you need the table number on them. They'll already be at their tables!

No number on the place setting cards.  It would be redundant since it will be on the table.

ETA:  Is it common for guests to also have a name card at their plate?  I have never seen this.

  • thanks guys. that's what I thought. It just seems scary that I am already at the point in planning where I can start working on guest's placecards!!!!!

penny, we have to do it this way, because the place cards are going to indicate the guest's meal choice to the servers.
  • We are having our favors in envelopes. They are trading cards. The envelope will say the table number they are assigned to. I dont care where they sit at the table as long as it is the table number listed. If there is any confusion our wedding planner will have a list for them of what table they are at.
