Where did everyone.......

buy their dress? And how long in advance did you start looking? I plan on booking my venue tomorrow and work on flowers, photographer, and videographer at the same time as looking for a dress...

I'm getting my dress from Alfred Angelo. I am actually going next Saturday the 12th to buy my dress. So only 7 months in advanced. But I've had an idea of what I want for some time now.

I purchased my dress at the 11 month mark....however,I live near Miracle Mile and saw a dress on sale that I LOVED, so I bought it. I purchased the dress at Coral Gables Bridal.

Anywhere between 1 year and 6 months to go is pretty standard. Good luck!

I got my dress at Patricia South in Plantation. I got it last November and I am getting married this November. I ordered it really early because the store said that my dress takes 6 to 8 months to make and be shipped and what not!

I bought my dress at J. Del Olmo on Miracle Mile. I started looking a year in advance, thought I found the dress. When I went back 8 months before the wedding (which is when I was told to order it) I ended up seeing another dress and changing my mind!

I bought my dress a year in advance but I refuse to promote the place I got it from. The service was horrible after I placed my order.

Got mine form Belissima Bridal on Miracle Mile... the girls are friendly but def don't know how to fit you correctly. I'm now paying extra money for alterations that I wouldn't have had to do if they had ordered the correct size like I had originally suggested to them
*EDIT * forgot to mention that I bought mine 7 months out

I got mine at Chic Parisian right off of Miracle Mile. The day of my appt they were having a Christos trunk show, so we ended up getting 10% off which was great@ The boutique is beautiful and gave me the best experience as I was trying them on with my mom, grandma & aunt...some places on the Mile didnt even have a place to sit in the entire store so my poor grandma was thrilled to see couches and space and esp when they offered her a latte! :) I have only been for one initial fitting as I'm getting married in November and am living in the Philippines, but that was also a great experience.

They apparently do all alterations (unlimited amount) for around $600, which is alot but since I'm not local to come in often I figured was a bitch to pay, but worth it in that I didnt have to go somewhere else etc as I'll only be home a week plus before the wedding.

I bought my daughter's dress at Patricia South's in May for her Feb 2011 wedding. Stacey was our consultant and she was wonderful. They told us it would take 5 months for her dress to come in and it arrived in 4 months. They held the dress until she started alterations in Jan. She needed it taken in an inch, hemmed and bustled. At her second fitting a few weeks later, the dress fit perfectly! They stored the dress until I arrived for the wedding the week before. My daughter picked up her dress and I kept it at our hotel so her fiance wouldn't see it.
The dress was in wonderful condition when we took it out of the bag on her wedding day. The dress had a very long, poufy train and there was not one wrinkle in it. I don't know how they got it in the bag without it getting wrinkled.
We got a 15% discount on her dress for getting the tuxes from them as well. Plus the groom's tux was free.
I know some brides had a bad experience with them, but our experience couldn't have been any better!

I bought my dress yesterday from For the Bride in Ft. Myers. It was a long drive (2 1/2) hours but they were having an amazing trunk show and the owner, Wendy, is AMAZING. She is worth the drive alone, haha! I'm super early in buying my dress. My wedding date is 12/22/12 and again, I bought mine yesterday. I knew my dress was "the one" and got a great deal on her as well. I couldn't pass up buying. Honestly, I don't think there's a right time to buy (as long as it's not too late!). Whenever you've looked for awhile and finally really fallen in love with the dress, then it's time to buy! :)

Awesome! Thanks for the advice I will be making my appointments for the upcoming weeks! We booked 3/4/2012 at the Boca Dunes Golf and Country Club! It was an emotional and crazy ride but I am happy

I picked mine out a year in advance at J. Del Olmo on Miracle Mile.  There are so many dress places on that street, I'm sure you'd find something :)
