Pounding shots with the bride

Got this little tip from my co-worker, just thought I'd pass it along.

If you're serving liquor at your reception, it may be a good idea to get "special bride and groom" shot glasses.  The idea here is to keep your own shot glasses behind the bar, and ask the bartenders to pour only a teensy bit of alcohol (if any at all) into your glass.  It's your wedding and you may be a popular person to do a shot with.  Might help to remember it!  LOL

Luckily my venue does not allow shots! I have no interest in doing any shots at my wedding, but maybe this will be a good tip for another bride! My feeling is that shots at a wedding can get out of control.

Our venue doesn't allow them either and I'm pretty happy about that!

My venue had shots and I see nothing wrong with it.  I think I did two or three shots the whole night - but I was out dancing 99% of the time, so I wasn't pulled away very much.  It was a nice way for my friends and family to celebrate with us since it's something we traditionally do when we get together.
