What do have FI wear for vintage-style e-pics?

My friend graciously offered to do our e-pics for free. She suggested a vintage/retro look, which fits very well with my style...but not so much FI's. Any ideas of what he can dress in to match a 50s theme, that doesn't kill his jeans and a skater-tee image?

Just add a sweater vest with converse. Or like a fleece sweater maybe a hat?

I did polka dot and red. I have tons of photos of what i was looking for before i did the shoot. I can email them. That's where i got my inspiration. We found a old 50's diner with a car out front which helped

I know, yours were super cute, Beth! My FI would never allow me to put him in a vest! I wish I could put him in a skinny tie with suspenders, but he's just not hipster and has no desire to be trendy or vintage in any way! I went shopping today and bought FI some black & white plaid button downs (I'm wearing a black dress with red accessories). I'm hoping that will be a good medium ground. He's the only guy I ever dated that isn't super stylish, and sometimes it drives me crazy! Here's hoping he'll wear the shirts!

He will probably not allow a hat, but when he was a little boy, he loved bow ties and used to wear them to school all the time. Secretly I'm making him a bright red bow tie, and I'm going to try to convince him to wear it in just a few photos! I'll report back on how it goes!

PS: How DID you get Mark to cooperate? Was he excited about the idea?

ahhh a bow tie is 50s!! I told Mark this is a once and a lifetime thing and he just has to suck it up haha. Hes pretty laid back
