DJ suggestions in Cleveland, OH

Hello fellow brides to be!  I am Italian and Polish and my fiancée is African American and my family ranges in ages from 18-78 while his family ranges from 20-50.  We are in need of a dj that can please everyone in the crowd and can play oldies to mo-town, to reggae to 80's rock, to old school rap to classic 90's, to current top 40, line dances, slow songs, etc.  Someone who knows what to play when to keep people on the dance floor and the party moving.  Someone who can MC the party and who won't break the bank because we are paying for the wedding ourselves.  Any suggestions?

-Michelle

Re: DJ suggestions in Cleveland, OH

  • We booked DJ Tim Tatko. He has great reviews online and he gave us a really good price. Our reception is six hours so price was a huge factor. By far the cheapest we found...
  • We used Bill Bodenschatz from ProDisc - I have a review on here of him somewhere.  I highly recommend him!
  • Check out the DJ Crew!! They are amazing! They are the best of the best! You can pretty much plan your entire reception online! They have been great to work with! Plus if you mention my name, Kyra Sodergren, you will receive 50 dollars off!! And remember DJs are not something you want to settle on! A good DJ can make or break a reception and all the receptions I've been too that the DJ crew have DJed at have been so much fun! Good luck!
  • Also check out Billy J Full Spectrum Entertainment - they do a great job (he did my brothers wedding in November) and they offer all the specialty lighting, photo booth, green screen, limo service, video and photo services all under one roof ! Great concept and so much more convenient!!!!! He was only $850 for my brothers whole night and dance floor lighting and my brother got a gift certificate for two free dance lessons when he booked Billy J!!!
  • I'm actually going to second DJ Crew - they did my sister and brother in law's wedding (Lebanese and Polish), and did a great job keeping everyone on the dance floor and active.  They were even able to incorporate a dabke (long Lebanese line dancing song) and a polka without killing the room, it was actually quite masterful.  It was nice because it was really upbeat but the family loved that they were able to incorporate some of the traditions.  Pricewise, they're probably a little above average (a little over $1200 for the whole night with the referral discount), but IMO a DJ is the right thing to invest in, they will make or break a party and it will be a key factor in your guests having a good time - if you're paying several thousand for your wedding, saving a few hundred and booking a bad DJ is not worth it.  I just booked them for my wedding and didn't even look anywhere else (not worth the risk).  I know you already have a referral name from the above post, but if you'd like to mention my name as well you might get an additional referral discount (Kristen Saad).

  • Checking out Tim this weekend, thanks!
