As you all know I was in a pretty horrible accident Sunday night - hit and run by a large, steel construction truck who was going 70 mph on the turnpike, and I was then hit from behind by another car also going pretty darn fast. Car was totalled, hand shattered, bruises and cuts galore.
I heard that my mom and Jaime have updated you with the gory details of surgery and so on so I wont bore you with that.
First and foremost -
thank you. I am touched beyond words by the kind emails, prayers, knottie vibes, texts, phone calls, flowers and yummy treats (Andra, I have had 4 brownies already!) from you all. Please know that your kindness, prayers and well wishes helped bring a smile to my face daily during this very arduous week. I am
honored to be friends with you, to know such loving, compassionate women and to be a part of this very special community we have here on the knot.
I received emails and flowers from many of you who I have not even met in person - you have no idea how much your kindness and thoughtfulness has touched not only me, but my family as well. My parents and FI are blown away at how amazing the knotties are.
Jaime, Jilly, Jess and Amy - a special thanks for coming over and visiting with me... i know you all had over an hour drive to get to me and it meant a lot. I was pretty down the past week and you helped cheer me up when I needed it most. Jaime thank you for crying with me when I was scared about my neck and surgery and for having a huge heart of gold. Ayana, thank you for making the very important legal connections we needed and Tess and Jen for checking in with me daily and for the flowers and ballons. Lacey, Sarah, Court, Andra - the flowers and treats were deeply appreciated and so very thoughtful. I could go on and on with thanks to each and every one of you but I only have one hand to type with LMAO!
I am happy to be recovering day by day. I am grateful to be here and to be able to count the blessings I have in life. Please know that count you all as one of them.
On a side note - please please please wear your seat belts. I have been told by dr's, paramedics, my insurance adjuster who saw my car, and the police on the scene that if I did not have mine on, I would not be alive. Do not underestimate how quickly things in life can change.
I will never forget the love, empathy and compassion I received from you girls this week. I cannot find the words to thank you enough. Please know how deeply grateful I am to you all. I sincerely love you.
I look forward to meeting many of you next week at the GTG, I cant wait to have some time out of the house ... I'll be the one with the super sexy neck brace and cast

Again, THANK YOU. You are all amazing women.
Love,
Alissa
