Help! Need Ceremony Location!

I'm not affiliated with a church.  My fiance is.  We booked our venue and when we went to book the church we found out the date was already taken.

My fiance wants to use his childhood pastor to marry us.  That means we need to find an offsite ceremony location.  I am hesitant to book an outdoor wedding as we were planning for late September.

I'm at a loss for a cheap, not church affiliated, inside venue for the wedding ceremony.  Any ideas are appricated.

First, I would check with the pastor if he will even do that. None of the priests from my church will perform wedding ceremonies outside of our church. Our pastor did once, for the mayor of our city. But that was it. Check first and then look.

  • Thanks for the tip.  We already did.  His pastor is willing to perform an offsite ceremony, however he did warn us that if we used another church they would likely require we use their pastor.... hence the non-church affiliated location request.
  • East, west or south side of Cleveland? Or does it not matter to you? How many guests, approximately?

  • We're trying to keep it to 150 people.  And we live in the Akron area.
  • Check out the Tallmadge Historical Church in Tallmadge (just east of Akron proper). It's actually a former church (not occupied by a congregation) and available for rent thru the city of Tallmadge.

  • I know of a couple churches that will allow you to provide your own priest, but it usually omes with a fee. I know downtown hudson (standing room only) is free if you have a sponsor from the town. Most parks will allow it with a permint,  and sarah's vinyard in cuyahoga falls charges $150 i think, but I'm not sure what you get for the money.
