Outdoor Wedding in South Florida

I'm looking for outdoor ceremony sites. We're both into the whole nature idea. We would be willing to have the reception indoors. We don't really want a whole country club, hotel feel if we can avoid it. Any ideas???

    Hi and welcome!

Where in South Florida are you looking? Do you have an idea of how many guests you're expecting? And how about your budget? The possibilities are endless, so if you can give us more info, we'll have recommendations for you :)

We're thinking roughly 125 at the most. Broward County would be great. We don't have a budget just yet. But we don't want anything too grand.

I'd recommend the W hotel in Ft. Lauderdale but you don't want a hotel ...

I'd also recommend the Parkland Golf & Country Club but you don't want a country club lol ... This is the thing, these two venues don't have that hotel/country club vibe to it at all.

The PG&CC looks like a countryside mansion, it's gorgeous, and a ceremony there is just breathtaking, the perfect setting for a garden wedding. That's where knottie Goldie3474 got married, and everything was amazing.

    I'll think of other recs!

I know! I'm so picky! I was looking at the Long Key Nature Center in Davie, FL. I'm just concerened about the whole cater thing. I just want a place that is nature related and doesn't look cheesy. I would do a whole country club if it looked natural. I'm not a fan of the whole linen thing. I'm just so picky.

I wanted the same thing - I looked into Morikami, the orchid society, etc etc etc.

I ended up at parkland golf and country club ... I know you said no cc butttttt I didnt want one either. I was like HELL NO I am not going to see it when my mom mentioed it.

I went and fell in love. they have 3 acres of these amazing botanical gardens and it fit my vision. Anyhow worth a ride out there to take a peek b/c the pics on their site DO NO justice to it at all. It looks like tuscany.

    Also try Miami botanical gardens

Thank you!!! I did look into the parkland country club and I wasn't too sure. But after seeing your pictures, I'm thinking about adding it to the list of places. Was it a reasonable price? What did they provide for the price?

I was not at all going to go there initally, I threw such a fit with my mom like a total brat haha. I drove in and I was like oh. Ok. Yup, this is it. HAHA!

depending on the time of year you get married, their food and bev min changes. I got married in feb - during peak wedding season so I paid the higher end of the food and bev minimum. We did, however, get a lot of bang for our buck.

And Karen the catering director was very willing to negotiate when we added things on. We added some stations for cocktail hour a few months before the wedding that were listed at $10 per person and we got them for $5 and $6 p/person each after negotiating. We upgraded the bar for $5 a head when it was listed at $8 so they are very accomodating.

Hope this info helps you some! Feel free to email me if you want any other deets
