Alterations

Hello-
New to posting on this site.  I was wondering if anyone had any alteration reccomendations for the North Royalton or Avon Lake area?  Willing to travel a bit if needed. 

I purchased my dress at Pat Catans, and am tempted to use them, but they are REALLY pricey.  Any experiences with that vendor?

    Don't use Catan's for alterations. Way overpriced! I used Denise Roberts who is now in Columbia Station. She does great work for a very reasonable price. She did my wedding gown, and also a bridesmaid dress for when I was in my brother's wedding. She's wonderful!  http://www.juliannebridal.com/

    Try Zula's Tailoring in Brunswick....330-225-1933. Super cute European lady who does all my stuff....she is doing my wedding dress and did 2 other dresses for me. I call her a miracle worker because she can completely re-do a garment and make it look original. She did that to 2 bridesmaid dresses for me for 2 weddings that I was in. I think she discounts 10% if you bring the bridal party. She also has a coupon on the website now for prom that I used for my  rehearsal dinner dress and she did not care.  http://zulatailoring.com/

    Another reccomendation for Denise, she did a wonderful job on my dress and I've had several other things altered by her as well. Very friendly and reasonably priced, she's great!

    Also, just to give you an idea for price, etc. I had A LOT of work done to my dress--it had to be hemmed about a foot which made the pickups on the skirt look a bit off. Denise was able to create more pickups in the skirt to make it symmetrical, I had the bust taken in and a bustle put in. All of that over several fittings was around $150 if I remember correctly, way more affordable than Catans and great craftsmanship! Welcome to The Knot as well :)
