DJ help!

We met with a DJ who was recommended to us and we hit it off with him. He offered us 6+ hours from start to finish for $1550. Ive been getting alot of feed back from friends that $1550 is a great deal and ive also been getting its a total rip off. I need some help from you other knotties whether its a deal or a rip?? help!!

He will have lights, 2 djs, 2 booths and he will be there from start to finish

Re: DJ help!

  • try checking him out on weddingwire.com. when looking for dj's i got prices quoted to me up to the $3,000 and i'm not paying even close to that with my dj, so there are all ranges. check out his reviews on weddingwire and see what other brides have to say. GL!
  • I love my DJ!! He is awesome and only charges like $150/hr for basic DJ fees, he had a light package too but I didn't sign up for that.  You should check him out and let him know you heard abou thim on the Knot.  My name is Katie if you need a referral.  Eddy is the best!!

The company is called Custon DJ Services, he was recommended by a friend who was at a wedding he did.  Hes very energetic and aims to please the couple, which is why we liked him so much
  • Wow- that's really expensive! I have my DJ for 6 hours for my ceremony, cocktail hour and reception and I'm paying less than half of that! I've seen my DJ's at half of the bridal shows in Palm Beach County and they are AMAZING! There are many DJ's that you can choose from too, which I loved!

    Check out Kendy Mondo HTH!

  • that is expensive .... my dj was about 1000 (ish) i dont remember the exact amount (was present from my father) but i know it wasnt crazy expensive.

We used Eddie B and Company.  I know a few other knotties are using him as well.  We had him do the ceremony, hired his steel drummer for cocktail, and used him for the reception.

Including lights, we're paying about $1300 for over 6 hours of dj services with a separate ceremony set-up. We only have one dj and booth though. So your price sounds fairly reasonable to me- especially considering it includes lighting and 2 djs/mcs with booth set-ups.
  • Honestly, that's a pretty good deal considering what you're getting..

But, try DJ Billman if you're looking for something a bit less pricey!

  • I'm probably going with Stephen Peters - he only charges $795 for five hours of service. I think $1,500 is pretty expensive.
  • That's way too high. I'm using Bud from Let's Party DJs
