Catholic in Cleveland

I am planning on getting married on a SUNDAY, yes a SUNDAY..which apparently is "not good for the Catholics" according to the local church.  I wanted to get married in the Catholic Church in Cleveland, these churches are hard to come by, does anyone know a Catholic Church that marries couples on a Sunday?

I cant remember if my church will or not but they are in Solon, which might not work for you.  I did find a link for all the parishes in Northeastern OH

    Good luck!

From my understanding, Catholic Churches will not do Sunday weddings.  I don't know if this has changed in recent years, but I haven't heard otherwise.

I know that priests have a limit on how many masses they can perform in a day, so this may be a factor.  If you are willing to get married outside of a Mass, that might make it easier.

Investigate if the Bishop has prohibited this practice. If he has, there is little you can do, as no priest or deacon can disobey.  If you are given permission, the ceremony will not be a typical wedding ceremony in that you cannot choose your own readings - you will have to use the readings for that Sunday (so I've heard).

Thank you!!  I actually have been investigating a lot since I posted that, and it looks like Sunday weddings for Catholics are "prohibited" in the Diocese of Cleveland.  I guess I'll just have to plan around that...

My church is in Solon too, and although Sunday is off limits, the priest is amazing & helpful... check out Church of the Resurrection in Solon, OH. The Cathedral downtown is gorgeous as well.
