Cupcakes

We would love to have cupcakes at our wedding rather than a traditional cake. Does anyone know of good cupcake bakeries that aren't too outrageous in price? Our reception is near Parma. Thanks!!!

My cousin bakes cupcakes on the side and has been taking paid/custom orders for several months now. She bakes out of her home and isn't affiliated with an actual bakery. I think her prices are pretty reasonable and she has a TON of flavors (both cake and frosting/topping) and is pretty creative. She's going to be doing the cupcakes for my wedding. I don't know what her availability is but if you use Facebook, I suggest contacting her to see if she might be a good fit for you. I imagine she's cheaper than most bakeries.

  • It's kinda far for you but I'm getting my cupcakes from Caroline's Cupcakes in North Canton. You can pick up to 5 different flavors! You can also rent a cupcake stand from them, (if you haven't starting looking for them yet prepare yourself they are exspensive!) Their cupcakes are amazing and very pretty. I would check them out!
  • I actually don't like Carolines Cupcakes (sorry marilynky).. i think its partially the texture and the frosting is very sugary(think cotton candy when it is supposed to be vanilla).. just not really that great in my opinion.  I kind of have an obsession with all the cupcake shops of northeast Ohio and my fave is Sweets by Maggie in Amherst.  They actually are a full bakery, but have a great assortment of cupcakes - their salted caramel cupcake is the best cupcake I have ever eaten.  Main Street cupcakes is good if you want lots of out there flavors (they have 3 locations - rocky river, hudson, and medina).  And White Flower Bakery is also really great.. they are in Beachwood I think.  Oh and I recently have discovered Pandora Cupcakes in Fairlawn... also delicious.

I'd recommend trying out a few places.. could be lots of fun :)
  • I don't know if they deliver or if you would have to pick up but Confectioner's Cupcakes in Mentor is very tasty. They also offer mini cupcakes which is a nice option because then guests have room to try more flavors, or if you're having other desserts have room for everything.
