Changing your name with the DMV

Hey thought I would give you guys a heads up. I waited 2.5 hours yesterday to change my name @ the DMV. The first appointment available is not until april 30th. Make an appointment or get there FIRST thing in the morning, I got there 30 minutes after they opened. You need every piece of paper that you can find to prove you are who you say you are...including kindergarden finger paintings :)

    Wow, when I went in November all i needed was the paper from SS and I brought our marriage licence but I don't think they even asked for it.. or maybe they did.  Either way it sounds like the new rules they have are annoying.   Good heads up though, for the girls.

    I know it is CRAZY FAR from most of you...but The Hobe Sound DMV on Bridge Road has always been FABULOUS to me!


    After my car accident (which to this day I maintain, wasn't my fault) I had to have my license re-issued since the car was totalled... I went there and they retook my picture because the first one I had a funny face.


    Lines have never been crazy long and the people are nicer! Just thought I would share!

    I am in the process of gettign everything changed. better start making an appointment. I plan to go to SS on Monday. thanks for the heads up.

    Wow is right!
    Awesome heads up, but when we went last August... the process was so simple! :\

    All we had to do was show my old SS card & our marriage license. How annoying with all the changes!

    The Law Changed January 1st.  You now need 2 proofs of ID as well as residence and only from the approved list www.flhsmv.gov.
