Eastlake reception, outdoor wedding ceremony?

I am planning my wedding for summer of 2011 and I feel so far behind!

I still have not found my ceremony site. I originally had the idea of having my reception site overlooking an area that had fireworks! But for our cost we picked the Croatian Lodge in Eastlake. But I am still set on an outdoor ceremony site. Now I am having a hard time finding a site. I loved Hillbrook, but they are booked already!

We are invitng over 300 to our wedding as well. Not sure how much actually show up though. Outdoor ceremony ideas? Within <45 mins of Eastlake? Would you be mad about driving far from ceremony to reception site?

I  have looked at Manakiki (they still have not gotten back to me), Holden (need smaller number to go there), walden (booked already), Hillbrook (booked already), Cleveland Botanical (expensive 1500, 3 per chair, 5 for parking which their lot can't even accomodate my numbers).... I just feel overwhelmed :o(

    Hmmm...  the best I can think of for an outdoor ceremony is Geneva State Lodge (on the beach, but have a gazebo) - prob right around 45 mins from Eastlake, give or take. 

    Or, Squire's Castle in Willoughby Hills - I think the lawn is big enough for that many, but since it's a public metroparks, I don't think you can actually "reserve" it.

    You might want to take a look at the Lake Metroparks website - there are some pretty sites, but not sure how many each can hold... then you have the issue with chairs (renting them, setting up, etc).  I wonder if Pen Glen in Kirtland can hold 300 - that is just as pretty as Holden.

    Hanna Garden? Not sure how many they can hold though.

    Friends of ours had an outdoor ceremony on campus at Hiram College (reception was indoors on campus) near their gardens. It was beautiful.

    We almost had our ceremony at the Downtown Willoughby Gazebo! We decided that due to our wedding being in May, it would be better for an indoor wedding.

    We have our wedding and reception both booked at LaVera in Willoughby Hills!

    Check Lake County Metroparks - Farmpark in Kirkland would be big enough I would think!

    Mentor Beach park grounds could probably work too!

    I already looked into Squire's Castle.  It's free to reserve, but they told me that they have a limit of 40 guests and you can't close it to the public.  I'm getting married at the Rockefeller Greenhouse in Cleveland: http://www.rockefellergreenhouse.org/ Max capacity of 75 though :-/  I have a friend who had an outdoor wedding at the Art Museum, it's free but I'm not sure about capacity.  Good luck!

    I am looking into Manakiki for my wedding. Beautiful outside, the ceremony site set up is down in a little wooden area. It does not look like it could hold 300 people. I know the reception area only holds up to about 150-175.

    I have heard good things about the Geneva Lodge.
