Doubletree Ocean Point?

We visited the site yesterday, and fell in love with it :)  Think it might be the place.

Anybody else getting married there?  Your experiences so far?

I didn't get married there but I did visit it and it was my #2 choice. The ONLY reason I didn't pick it was because that middle room with that HUUUGE window seemed cramped and I didn't want to shove 12 people at a table. But besides that, the view was GORGEOUS, the hotel was really modern and the rooms were nice. Plus the price was good!

I don't doubt any wedding there will be phenomenal.

Hi Kim. I will be getting married there 10/15/2011. We absolutely fell in love with the place. We live in DC but we're both originally from Miami so we wanted the wedding to be near the beach. What really sold us on it was their back up room(amazing views) . All the other places we looked at had a standard ballroom as a back up. They changed their event planner/coordinator a couple of months ago and I was upset because the former was amazing!! So far they have been great to communicate with long distance. No communication yet with the new coordinator other than a phone call to introduce herself. I'd love to hear what you thought about her though. We will be in Miami next month to finalize our other vendors.
What other places have you looked at?

Lyndopo, the room does scare me a bit, as we'll be having 100 guests, but the coordinator assured me that the room can accomodate up to 130, so I'll leave it in her hands.

Hi Mareah:  I agree with you about the backup space...all the other places essentially offered closets as a Plan B!  The new coordinator's name is Cynthia, and she was very pleasant, nothing negative to say about her so far.

To date, we've checked out the Crowne Plaza Hollywood, the Newport Beachside Resort, the Hollywood Marriott, the Doubletree, and next week we're checking out the Cocoplum in Coral Gables.  Truthfully, my mind is already made up, but FI and my mom are encouraging me to keep the last option open.
