Rain, rain....GO AWAY :)

We have been trying to have our engagement pictures taken for the last two weeks. Every time we schedule with the photographer it downpours for hours and we have to cancel. I know that this is just typical heading into the rainy season weather, but it's beginning to make me sad that we can't get our pics!

That said, we are supposed to try again on Friday afternoon/evening. As usual, there's a chance of heavy rain. Can anyone think of a cool indoors location that we might be able to use for photos? I don't know if it's even silly to consider but I really wanted the photos done before our engagement party which is coming up in a few weeks.

We both (FI & myself, and the photographer) live in Delray Beach, so any ideas are welcome!

  • UGH, that's what happened with us. It was so upsetting!!

I'm really not sure about any indoor locations. :( I wish I had something good to tell you.

BUT, I'm crossing my fingers for no rain for Friday!

  • well are you guys into any sports ... or video games ... or even the movies ...

you can do it at an arena of your favorite team ...... or in an arcade or even lazar tag.... or movie theather could be cute with the concession stands and whatnot ...

you can also do it in the mall maybe .... with stops a few shops to use as props ...

or your favotire restaurants ... or ice cream shops or place to go on a rainy day...

we took ours indoors .... at the Bank Atlantic Center ... we hockey fans so it fit well ...

You could go to one of the museums, I saw some really cool wedding pics taken at the Science Museum in Ft. Lauderdale.

I don't know about anything up in the Palm Beach area though, I like some of Ilana's suggestions.

Think about something both of you are into and figure out how you can do indoor pics with that. And maybe at the end, take a few pics outside, in the rain- just because it could be fun, and it'll make for some neat shots I'm sure.

    GL!
  • Same thing has been happening to us girl!! I can totally relate.  We tried for the second time this past Saturday and well, we captured a few but will have to try again, dang rain!!  It really stinks because I paid for my hair and makeup!! I like all of the ideas suggessted above.  My friend in CA just had hers taken and they took some in a really cute ice cream shop, eating a sundae and from the window, it was super adorable.  I also saw a couple that did their e-pic session at their home, just being them- snuggled up on the couch, playing in the kitchen, etc.  It was really cute and was a sneak peek of their life together.

I'm with Faith and crossing my fingers for a beautiful Friday evening with no rain!!!

  • I had the same problem last Friday!! My photographer cancelled on Thursday and as it turned out it was nice and clear in the morning. We rescheduled for June 8th so wish us good weather luck! Soooo frustrating though....

  • My friend had the same problem this weekend with her pictures! I really hope the weather gets better soon!

I'm not familar with the Delray area but have considered a museum? The Flagler Museum comes to mind and it's very pretty. I have seen an engagement shoot at The Breakers in West Palm Beach...the pictures came out really nice and the couple looked like they had fun!

Also, you can take pictures in your favorite restaurant, if you met in school/college, favorite store (I have seen some Ikea engagement pics - super cute), bowling alley, arcade, or you can do it in your own home! I have seen some e-sessions at home where the couple do cook/bake together, lay in bed snuggling together and among other things. I loved those "home" e-sessions because the couple seemed completely natural not posey and they seemed so happy.

Here is last week's Wedding Inspiration Board...it may give you some ideas!
