WTF Friday!!!

Hooray, it's Friday! Any vents or frustrations to share this week?

Re: WTF Friday!!!

  • TGIF....(doing my Friday dance, LOL) and i have two issues with this wedding

1st issue is all about venues.. Y O Y ARE THEY SOOO DARN EXPENSIVE? Like i just dont understand the 90 plus per person for some chicken and rice and veggies smh then its either too pricey or it just doesnt look good (ie: too outdated (not a modern clean look) or too small with no accomodations for a bridal suite or ceremony area) Im beginning to want to just elope or do a courthouse ceremony and a reception later in the years when i can afford "The Hilton or The W or maybe even a place as nice as CoCo Plum....<sill on my venue search for now>

2nd issue my FI really isnt that interested in a wedding (not that he doesnt want to get married) but hed rather a courthouse or vegas (destination) wedding with 1 or 2 ppl, im like com'on y cant you just let me have this day to be the center of attention and wear the beautiful dress and have a good time eating and dancing with my closest family and friends UUGGHH we have this discussion every other day LOL
Thats it for now (VENTING SESSION DONE)!

  • misstira: your feelings about venue is something every brides goes through and it's tough. I know I went thru it and even considered having a small reception. FI also wanted to have a destination wedding but we couldn't because our grandmothers cannot travel. Not sure how many guests you plan to invite but I'm sure you will find a place for your wedding. It just may require for you to sacrifice some other items or really stick to a budget but I can be done : About your FI don't sweat it. Most men don't really like to be part of the wedding process not because they aren't interested in getting married but it always seen like they would be happy with the smallest of things as long they are married. I'm going to play the devil's advocate and chime in about having a destination wedding....it's having a wedding and vacation at the same time for you guys and the family and friends who cane make it. This pretty much won me over but we decided not to because my 91 yr old grandmother would not be able to make it.
  • I am having the same issues misstira! I could've written that post myself! I finally found a place where I feel is a great price for what is included - the Lighthouse Point Yacht club. Now if only I could get my FI to go look at the place so I can reserve my date. He's completely uninterested and won't even give me a list of who he wants to invite. He thinks weddings are a waste of money and rather spend the money on a house. I agree that I don't want to spend a lot on the wedding, but I still want my big day as a bride to walk down the aisle and celebrate our marriage.
