Parents Gifts?

Has anyone heard of this?  Are you all doing this?

Most weddings I've been too...the bride and groom presented their parents with a gift...whether its a georgeous frame or a weekend get-a-way...

What is everyone doing?  Would love to get some ideas.

I hadnt thought about gifts for them.  I had corsages made for my mother and his grandmother.  I'll be stalking this for ideas though!

doing all gifts at the RD for sure.

I'm giving each of the mothers an engraved picture frame with an engagement photo and the dads a tie. Then after the wedding I will be giving them a photo book with photos of the wedding.

So FI really wants to give our parents a weekend away at Chateau Elan (its this cute little french resort/vineyard an hour north of Atlanta)   I thought that sounded like way too much, but if I gave my parents an album they probably would never look at it -I gave my parents a really nice silver frame last year for their 30th wedding anniversary and umm, yea my mom re-gifted it to me as an engagement present, so unless we come up with something else, weekend at Chateau Elan it is!

I think I also will do engraved frame and the photo album a with wedding pics beyond that I don't know.

I haven't decided yet, but I think the idea of a getaway is awesome, especially if your parents are footing the bill for the wedding.

Unfortunately for us, we are still students and I don't know that we can afford a cruise or anything for them.  We will probably get them a gift certificate for a nice dinner or something like that.

Fi is taking his Dad golfing the morning of the wedding and I am paying for his moms hair and make-up. For my Dad, we just got him cufflinks.
