Change of venue 8 months before..

So I was planning on having my wedding in Sunny Isles at a hotel and having the ceremony on the beach. Things happen and plans changed.. My father was supposed to help me out alot with the wedding but 3 months ago, be passed away. He was on his motorcycle and a deer ran out of the forest and hit him (Ocala National Forest)
Now things are happening and Im not going to be able to have the wedding where we planned. Its alot of money to put up and my car just broke down and its a couple of hundred to fix it. I dont know how much more I can handle. So We were thinking about having the ceremony at a nice park (maybe Tree Tops Park) then have the reception in a nice hall or ballroom.. Finally to my question for my south florida ladies.. Anyone know of a ncie hall or ballroom I can check out? Nothing that is going to cost alot of money. I want this wedding to happen, but alot of things are changing because of money.

So sorry to hear about your loss. May good memories of your father always remain with you. Would you consider doing both the ceremony and reception at the park? That would save you a lot of money, but would be a lot of DIY projects. Not sure if that's an option. Plus, you would only be allowed to bring beer and wine into the park - no liquor.

Anyway, my brother got married at Tony's Reception Hall two years ago and it is a really pretty place. The food was good and it wasn't an outrageous price. http://www.tonysreceptionpalace.com/
They are in Miami.
If you are looking for a place in Broward, check out Jubilee Gala in Pembroke Pines. The place is very pretty and the packages are great! 954-436-7766

• Thanks. I have thought about doing both the ceremony and reception in the park, but the thing that scares me is we can never predect south florida weather. I am already doing alot of DIY projects as it is, so everything would fall into place, but the weather is coming I have to think about. Its in March and I know March can be different thru out the month.
Ill check out the Jubilee Gala in Broward. I think Tony's would be a little so south for me.
Thanks for your info

A lot of the Broward County Parks have banquet rooms that you can rent out - that way you can have an outdoor ceremony and indoor reception (AND have the hall for the ceremony in case it rains!) Check out this website to see which Broward Parks have rooms! I've been to a wedding at Secrets Woods Nature Center and it turned out nice! http://www.broward.org/Parks/Rentals/Pages/Default.aspx

• I am truly sorry for your lost. Like Missv stated, remember all the good memories you shared with him and he will be with you in spirit always. We can definitely provide you helpful leads on finding the perfect venue for you.

How many guests are you expecting to invite? I am not sure if you are open to hosting your wedding in Miami-Dade county but there when you mentioned parks I first thought Matheson Hammock Park. I have seen many wedding ceremonies (via pics) and it looks absolutely lovely! You can host your reception at Red Fish Grill which is located in the park. This option is right on the bay so you will have a beautiful view of the water.

Now, if you want a lush garden park then Pinecrest Gardens is a great option to check up. You can have both the ceremony and reception. Weddings there are absolutely beautiful because the gardens are lush and just gorgeous. It's affordable too! The only catch is that it needs to be a day wedding but if you are on a budget then one option to consider is having a brunch wedding.

Side note: I would've had my wedding there if my church would conduct Sunday ceremonies but since it doesn't then we didn't book it.

Lastly, check out Cauley Square. It's an old town and it has many garden sections. It's affordable, the coordinator is very understanding, helpful, and flexible (I know because I've met with them).

• Hi Shannon! My condolensces on the loss of your father.

When I was home last month, I visited Fern Forest Nature Center. It has a very nice and naturey amphitheatre where you can have your ceremony, And it also has a hall for the reception. The rental fee is $800. The only hang up is that you have to leave the hall exactly the way you found it, and it can be tricky as it takes a LONG time to set up and take down a dance floor. So you'd have to designate people to do that AND vacuum after your wedding. But the cost benefit isn't so bad.

Hope this helps!

• first, sorry for your loss. i dont know what i would do if the situation you are in happened to me.

If you are looking at a hall rental, I would probably suggest (in broward) Royal Fiesta in Deerfield Beach. Its right on the Intracoastal and the pricing per person is pretty reasonable. If I didnt fall in love with a venue that is right down the street from Royal Fiesta, I would have mine there. I have also been to a wedding there and the food was pretty good. I am not really familiar with miami...my favorite venue down there would def. not be a venue for what you are looking for (i love the spanish monastery).
