Ring Cleaning/Polishing

Are you bringing your ring in to get cleaned & polished before the wedding? How long do you think that will take? Wondering when I should drop mine off. I don't want it back too soon because I don't want it to get dirty again.

Re: Ring Cleaning/Polishing

  • My jeweler told me to bring all of our rings in the day before to get cleaned.  They do it right on the spot.. only takes a few minutes.

They'll remain in the boxes until we're ready to use them... I want my rings clean for pictures the next morning.

  • I get my e-ring cleaned usually every 3 or 4 months. It takes about 10 minutes at my jeweler. Last time they offered me a mimosa while I waited, but I declined. This time, I might take them up on the offer! I plan on getting all the rings cleaned the day before the wedding so that they don't have much time to get dirty again.
  • My e-ring just got cleaned and inspected for its 6 months inspection. I am having my ring redipped to make it match my wedding ring since the bottom of my e-ring is a little dull and the jewler told me to bring it in a month before. I will probably get it polished and stuff the day before.

  • My ring gets cleaned and polished every time I go in to see my jeweler. (I go in to see my jeweler more often than most because she has become a personal friend). I probably end up getting it cleaned once a month or so. It is free and takes about 5 minutes.  I am always amazed at how much more sparkly it gets!!!

    This.

  • PS - my jeweler saw my put my ring back on once by touching the top stone. She got really mad at me and said that was a no-no. Touching your ring by grabbing onto the diamond is what makes it lose its shine. After you get it shined/cleaned right before the wedding, do NOT touch your diamond!!
  • I am getting my e-ring cleaned the day before the wedding.  I will make sure to take it off when I am washing my hands.  Our wedding bands are brand new and sparkly so I am only taking my e-ring.

  • I'm getting mine redipped/cleaned 3 weeks before and my jeweler told me not to wear it again until the wedding day. But I'm like seriously? How am I supposed to be able to do that? So I'll probably just have it cleaned the day before again.

I just had mine cleaned for the first time a couple days ago and wow does it make a difference! I had no idea.
