Changing EVERYTHING

Ok ladies, so after much, much deliberation and consideration. FI and I have decided to move our wedding back a year. Due to 1487231671 things we have going on right now, this is the right choice for us.

This being said, I'm starting from sratch. I want a new venue, new theme, new colors. Everything. I haven't purchased anything that was specific to what we were originally doing, and the only money I see us losing is a $500 deposit on the venue.

So please ladies, send me all your venue recs. The only thing I ask is that it be in Dade County.

Thanks!!!

I'm getting married in Broward but before I booked my Ft. Lauderdale spot, I visited the Deering Estate in Cutler Bay.  http://www.deeringestate.com/

It is one of the most gorgeous venues.  There are two historic homes, a courtyard, and you can have your ceremony overlooking the Bay.  It is Amazing and if it wasn't so far South I would have booked it.  If you do choose it, you have to book early! HTH!

[[There is a beautiful Deering wedding on Gregory Paul's blog that he just posted!]]

I don't have any venue rec's... but hey look at the bright side, you get to start from scratch.  If I could I would add/upgrade/change things! Have fun with it. Wink

Well, congrats on the decision, I am sure it wasn't an easy one. But it will give you time to plan the wedding you really want.

I am getting married at the Rusty Pelican and I love it. Also, I liked the Doubletree Grand on Key Biscayne.

Twinkle - you don't have to be a member to book at Deering.  I would check it out.  It may be an expensive rental but you can go less expensive with the caterer and other items. Another knottie, Vikki, had her wedding there and it was Amazing.

wow - big decision, congrats on making it, you'll get what you want now. FI and I did that when we first started planning. We scratched everything, picked a new date, and started over. It was refreshing - so I hope it is for you. I'm living in Daytona and from Martin County so I'm definitely no help, but good luck - you'll do amazing steph.

I can recommend my venue! Have you checked it out? I'm sure you've seen it if you've been to South Beach lately. It's the South Beach Marriott - on 1st and Ocean (right next to Nikki Beach). It's gorgeous and modern and really beautiful. It's on the ocean but it really doesn't have to be a beachy feel if you don't want it to be. It's really romantic inside, too.

Let me know if you want more info.

EaglesFan: Yeah, I just checked their website, and saw. I have a friend that got married there also, it's beautiful. The only thing I'm not sold on is an outdoor wedding. :( But I'm putting it on my list for sure.

What about The Shane Center? You can rent the place and then shop around for low priced cateres, linens, etc as needed.

You made a great decision! You don't want to be house poor. Or go into debt because of your wedding. If this is the best way to get both without sacrificing one for the other, then all the better! GL!! =D
