Just wanted to put my two cents in here. Let me start with the fact that I've never gotten my hair done here or had any services done here. I have heard wonderful reviews of the artists and stylists, which is what attracted me to them.
Here's the problem- I am a destination bride and getting married 1500 miles away, it is very important for me to feel comfortable with our vendors and all of the people who will be making our wedding special. Communication to me is key. I called Salon Oasis for the first time back in July 2012. I was handed off to Ron, the Bridal Specialist. He was very nice on the phone, and we discussed my day in detail. After our discussion, I made the appointment for my girls and I. Ron and I agreed that I would follow up with him with some more questions and pictures of what I am looking for. That night, I did just that. About a week and a half went by and I hadn't heard back (no biggie, I know people are busy), so I sent a quick follow up email to make sure he received my first email. A few more weeks went by, and nothing. Finally I called again in late August to make sure he received my emails. He said "they have been having trouble with their email (mind you, this was a hotmail address he gave me), but he JUST got my emails and would respond". I thanked him and told him I appreciate it. Another month went by - no emails back from him. I even sent one more email to check in. Nothing. I called again in November to ask him why. He couldn't give me a clear answer, just a bunch of jumble and to this day I can't even tell you what his reasoning was. I should've just asked for the Manager at this point. On our call, I asked him that since email seems to not work for him, can he please mail me what we discussed. Please note, part of what I was looking for was the prices that we discussed in writing because I didn't want to show up at the salon and be shocked by anything different, since they don't do contracts. He agreed about sending through regular mail and told me "great idea". Well again, that was November, it is now January and no mail. No emails and no mail. For some, this may not be a big deal or some may not agree that this is unacceptable. As a destination bride, I need to know that I can rely on the people I am working with. I can just "stop in" like many brides who live the next town over. Also, I think it's extremely unprofessional, the way this was handled. I have since contacted another artist/hair stylist, who is responsive, and will be signing that contract today. I just wanted to share this story as I think it's important. It's up to you to decide if you think it's unacceptable or not, but I did want to share. I will never do business there because of them, and it's too bad for their talented artists.
