Rsvp Rant!

i need to let it out (here) before i post it on fb and look like a total biatch.

why is it sooooo hard for people to rsvp? really why?????? no joke, about 80% of my guest have all said ... "oh sorry i thought i did" - yeah BS! and then they tell me they lost, or misplaced the invite. 
excuse my language but that sh!T pisses me off! hello!!! that's why refrigerators are made for, stick a magnet on it! 
and i understand ppl that havent had a wedding but for those that have had a wedding, they should know better! invites take time, not just to pick out but putting thought into the wording, then the stuffing then the licking then the searching for the right "wedding" stamp and then.... the wait in the post office. WTF i am mad!

AHHhhh that feels so much better. thank you for letting me vent and for not judging my craziness.

Have you all had the same issue? or is it just my people?

    EVERYONE HAS THE SAME ISSUE
    and we all understand, it's as if people were born with an RSVP'ing (lol) issue
    We had some people over for my hubby's birthday
    30% of the people voluntarily RSVP'ed
    the other 65% I forced them
    5% did not even bother
    I feel you!!!!!!!!

    Breathe in and breathe out, it all somehow comes together, you will most likely have to hunt people down, it sucks because it feels as if they are doing you a favor by coming :(

    Yep, join the club.  Two weeks before the wedding we had to contact EVERYONE that didn't RSVP.  Some of my friends actually told me they didn't reply because they wanted to "surprise" me at the wedding!!

    o my lord, Jenvaira - what universe do they come from...  "surprise" you? at that point I think I'd reply with "suprise! you can sit on the floor and have nothing to eat, thanks" :) lol

    Lololol Anna! That is sooo something I would say. I know it's not nice, and would probably turn a lot of people off, but with my crowd I know I can get away with it... I specifically mention on one of the invite inserts that any RSVP's not received by the deadline will be considered "Not Attending," and no seating/food will be reserved for them... and I'm not kidding. My DOC will have a guest list handy, and will be turning away any non RSVPers that show up.

    Believe me, I'm already threatening my invited guests with a bouncer at the door! No RSVP, no food for you!

    My invites just came in the mail yesterday. I'm already dreading the people that "forget" to rsvp!

    i totally feel your pain!!! i have my family has all rsvped and his family nothing ...not even his mom...i guess they want us to assume... i cant just turn away ppl...then they will say its only because its fi family... arrgggg lol

    you know what's funny. 
    1.) the people you expect the least from are the ones that do rsvp.

    AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!  This has been the WORST part of the wedding planning.  People are so lazy and so rude.  My daughter's wedding is in a month and we are a week past the date when the RSVP's were due back.  We are still missing about 20 (out of 124 invites).  When you don't have a solid list you can't do your tables, can't do your escort cards, etc.  The florist wants to know how many tables and we still have no clue!  We have been trying to contact people and get the dumbest explanations.  Then we've had people who said they were coming, then said they couldn't and now they are coming again.  RSVP's are the worst!
    Now I feel better, too!
