My DIY Lace invites!

Way before we even had our ceremony and receptions venues, I already knew how I wanted our invites to look like. I wanted the invites to look delicate, simple but beautiful at the same time. Also, I didn't want to spend so much money on them especially knowing the majority would be thrown away.

FI and I had planned to sit down on the computer and type all the wording up and then format it. However, FI knew they would more than likely be off and not look professional at all, lol. Thanks to one of FI's GMs....we have beautiful invitations, rsvp cards, and wedding inserts. He's a graphic artist and he made our invites look even better than I would have imagined or produced myself. He had so many options for fonts and even helped us improve our invite wording. Also, he saved me from stressing out on getting them done correctly and even printed them out for me which is not an easy task with thick, pre-cut paper.

I HIGHLY recommend him for all sorts of paper invites or goods needed. He does excellent work and super easy to work with him! I can forward his information if anyone is interested :)

Here is our DIY lace invite! These pictures do not to them any justice because they look really beautiful in person. Sorry for the poor lighting. We decided not to add a bow like the original because of the lovely gold detail the lace already has and it would be way too much.

The invite I posted was the first complete invite which our friend (and FI's GM) helped us out on. He is a graphic artist and he has experience doing invitations and offered his talent in making our invites. He had loads and loads of font choices which MS Word doesn't have really nice one anymore. I gave him the materials and I showed him the inspiration behind the card which was the lace. He recommended the best adhesive for the cards which is what we will be using for the remaining cards which FI and I will assemble today and tomorrow. I gave him the wording I wanted and he made a few changes and created the document. He did the same for our rsvp cards and pocketfold inserts. He added a watermark initial of the last name FI and I will share on the rsvp cards.

I'll be honest with you, if we did it all on our own then I don't think our invites would look as perfect and professional as they do. Not only that but it is very time consuming to make DIY invites...not just the wording but the assembly. Our friend offered to assemble all of our cards for us but he's done so much for us that we can at least do that part strictly on our own. Our friend also printed them out which I know it's a pain inthe butt since we had pre-cut paper. He is an amazing friend and wonderful person to work with for cards, invites, posters, and anything paper related.
  • Came out SO pretty! You guys and FI's friend did an awesome job!
