DJ & Lighting Costs

Hi girls! Hope all is well!

So my venue includes 4 hours of DJ but lighting is extra. He charges $950 for ballroom and courtyard uplighting, pin spot centerpiece lighting and a gobo. That's just one package but so you have an idea of his costs.

Is this a lot for just lighting? And how much are you paying for DJ + lighting?

I want to make sure we're actually getting a deal by using him. TIA!

I think that price is AWESOME if it includes the DJ. Though if it's just for lighting because the DJ is already included in your Reception price, I think it may be Pricey. I should be receiving Pricing for Lighting today, though I can tell you that I was quoted $650.00 for 5hrs for a DJ.

The thing is I feel like they try to get you to feel like it "includes DJ" but really they could be upping the "lighting" cost to compensate for the DJ cost that's included with the venue package. I'm hoping to figure out if this is the case by comparing to other girls' quotes.

I think it's a normal price for a lighting package that includes uplighting, pinspots and a gobo but you should definitely find out what lighting equipment he is using. For example, is he using LED lights, what kind of gobo, etc
