Uplight - is it worth is?

what's the best price?
what are the price range?
is it really worth?

Re: Uplight - is it worth is?

  • I think uplighting can transform a venue! In my mind, if you've got room in the budget, I'd do it. I think Celebrations by Kathy did the uplifting for a knottie friend's wedding.

  • I'm getting the uplights through my DJ typical price is 25 per light

  • I say go for it if its within your budget. It really adds to the space and gives it an emotion I think.
  • I am goping through the comapny called Uplyte. Uplighting adds a special touch and effect. It is awesome, IMO.
  • I found another bride who bought really nice uplights and is now renting them to recoup the cost!  I'm paying $136.00 for 8 uplights (includes shipping both ways).

    RENTAL DETAILS:

Payment:  Payment is due 4 weeks prior to the event date via PayPal or check. Your date will be reserved by simply confirming it with me via email. No deposit is required, unless I receive another rental request for your event date. In that case, I will contact you at the email address provided, and you will have 10 days to confirm your reservation and make a 50% deposit. The deposit amount will be deducted from your total rental amount, and you would then pay the remaining 50% rental balance 4 weeks prior to the event.

Shipping: The uplights will be shipped via USPS priority mail. You will receive the tracking number, and the uplights will arrive at least 2 days prior to your event.  There will be a pre-paid return shipping label in the package. Within two days after your event, just put the uplights back in the same box, attached the shipping label provided, and drop it off at any post office. Other shipping options available upon request.

Uplights: I have 20 LED uplights, they are the Chauvet SlimPar 56. For photos and specs, seehttp://www.chauvetlighting.com/slim-par-56.html.  You can also google "Chauvet SlimPar 56 wedding" for some examples of events that used this particular light, such ashttp://www.djshenn.com/Up-Lighting.html.

Colors: You can select any color using a menu button on the light - either set it to one color for the entire event, or choose a color change option which cycles through different colors on a timer.

Power source: At least one of the lights needs to be plugged into an outlet, then the rest of the uplights can be linked together using extension cords. These are LED uplights so they're low energy and they don't get hot like the par can uplighting does.

Setup Instructions: The lights are super quick and easy to set up. There are four simple steps: 1) Plug the uplight into the wall. 2) Press the "Menu" button until you see the letter "C". 3) Press the up and down buttons until you find the color that you want, then hit "Enter."  4) Place the uplight on the floor. You're done!  You can also tilt the light and/or adjust the legs to point it in different directions.

Note: for additional uplights, you can either plug the next light into another wall outlet, OR plug the second light into the first light to create a string of lights.
