Ceremony ONLY Venue near downtown Cleveland

We have already booked our reception site in downtown Cleveland and are looking for a ceremony site for our october 2012 wedding. We are open to a church (although neither of us are very religious so it would have to be non-denominational). I originally was looking at the Cultural Gardens but am having second thoughts about an outdoor wedding that late in the year. I used to live in Tremont and know there are beautiful churches there, but don't know where to start since we are not of any denomination. We are open to all ideas for a site, but do not want to spend a ton on the site. PLEASE HELP!

Re: Ceremony ONLY Venue near downtown Cleveland

  • Depending on the size of your guest list, check out Hanna Garden (it has an indoor backup site, IIRC) and also the Rockefeller Greenhouse (indoor) for ceremonies.
Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • We are planning to have around 100 people. Thank you for those ideas! I have looked into both (still getting info from Hanna). I think the greenhouse would be to small from what I have read online. Any more suggestions would be welcome!
  • There is an old church that is now owned by the Cleveland Public Theater that was able to be rented on Detroit in Lakewood area.  I don't see the facility mentioned on their website anymore but may be worth calling on!

Also CWRU has Harkness Chapel owned by the music dept. that is stunning and worth checking out - http://music.cwru.edu/facilities/harkness_chapel.php
  • You could try the Cleveland Botanical Gardens.  I'm not sure what they charge, but they have both indoor and outdoor options.  Also, the House of Blues can be reserved for weddings if you'd be okay with having a less-traditional feel to your ceremony (again though, not sure what they charge).  I hope this helps!
