DIY any part of your floral?

My floral quote got kind of expensive when FI and I started adding this and that.

So now I'm thinking...if I really think about it, I can probably decorate the cocktail hour myself. I'm making the pomanders for the ceremony myself, so I might save some $

Is this going to be a huge deal if I try and bring in some DIY decor for the cocktail hour? What about corsages and boutts? Are you ladies leaving all that to the florist?

Hmmm....is your cocktail hour at the Marriott pool??

Why not just do a crap load of votives everywhere? That's what I'm doing :). I figure people are going to be out there for an hour and I want them to be shocked when they enter the reception area, so I'm keeping it minimal but nice.

I have around 150-200 votives that I'm going to use. You're welcome to them when I'm done using them.

    oh wow. That's a good idea :)

My cocktail hour will be close to that bar facing the pools. They'll have some of the couches set up and bar stools/small tables.

Do you think I should just go ahead and do minimal florals and the votives like you are? It sounds like a really good idea.

I'd love to buy them when you're done. I was looking for some from you married ladies anyway. I'm sure there will be plenty of candle left, right?

    That's what I'm doing :). It's a great way to save $$!

There are honestly so many of them I'm sure there will be enough candle left. If not, all you have to do if freeze the glass to get the little candle pieces off and you can put more candles inside.
