So I ws thinking of using sparklers for our send off, ut we really arent having one b/c we're going to have after party with some of our friends, so would it be stupid to do it, like pointless? Has anyone known of someone to do them? How'd it turn out with everyone gettting them lit. Where do you buy them?

Also I have a Maggie Sottero "Harlow" gown, I have earrings and a bracelet to wear, do you think I should wear a necklace? Here is a pic of the gown. Im undecided whether to wear one or not, or it would be too much going on. What do you think.

Sparklers I cant help with, because I am in the same boat as you! Will be watching this thread.

Also you can wear a very simple pearl necklace to compliment your dress, its not necessary. Depending on your hair style may not be needed at all.

You can do a "send off" just for the pictures. They do come out pretty cool. We didn't do a send off, so I would say if you want the cool sparkler pics then do it! If not, no biggy. Right now you can find sparklers everywhere since July 4th is coming up. Target/Walmart where ever you go.

As for your necklace question. I'd say if you do (because IMO, you don't need a necklace with that) I'd go very simple.

as for the necklace, IMO, would not do one. your dress is really pretty and has alot going on..a necklace would draw attention from the dress.

I think the sparklers look really cool in pictures so if you just want the picture go for it! You're still ending and leaving the reception so a send off wouldn't be weird at all. Although, one piece of advice I have heard is to make sure you have someone there to help organize people (like your coordinator or assign a member of the bp).

On the necklace situation, are you wearing chandelier-type earrings? If so I would say skip the necklace. If you're just wearing studs or something really simple then a really simple, delicate necklace would look great I think. Either way you don't really need one since your dress is so beautiful to begin with.

Do the sparklers for pictures if you care for them.

Your dress is gorgeous, maybe a pendant would accentuate your neck and collarbone!

I don't think it's weird at all to do the send - off. And sparklers look great in pics. Just make sure you buy the ones that burn for about four minutes, or they'll die within seconds.

I love your dress, it's stunning. If you're wearing chandelier earrings, I'd say skip the necklace. If not, go with something very simple.

I agree with everyone else. The sparklers will be cool for pictures! And I'm not sure you need a necklace. I'm still soooo jealous that you have that dress!!!!

love sparklers! my cousin did something i thought was super cute and it was DIY project, I dont know how much work it is but whatt she did for the send off was make little paper cones and filled them flower petals for the girls and for the guys she did the sparlers and it made for an awesome picture... as the girls were throwing the petals the guys had the sparklers lit outside it was great... as to getting them all lit what they did was they tied a little box of custom matches to the sparklers and tied about 4 of them together and it worked out great... you should get someone to get everyone together so that by the time you get out everyone is ready... hope this helps

Go for the sparklers! Not everyone is going to be partying with your after plus it looks neat in pictures.

You are going to look gorgeous in that dress!! I say no necklace.

I didnt read everyones responce yet but my brother and his wife did sparklers as the send off (more then anything for pics) and they were great! Advice..we experimented a lot with getting them lit and here is what worked best...(she used the long sparklers)

1. Matches DO NOT work on long sparklers...have a few lighters handy
2. Small sparlers light the big sparklers really fast...so buy a few small ones to light the big ones with...
3. The day off planner (she had 2) and me and another bm..started with the 4 small sparklers started to light ppl and from there everyone lit everyone elses and it looks AWESOME in photos and the video!

Don't have anything to add that hasn't been said. I'd do the sparkler send of if you want b/c I've seen tons of pics of it and it does look cool.

The necklace question is a personal preference. I'm a bare neck type gal, so I wouldn't do one. Like pp's have said, do a very simple one if anything at all so it doesn't look too busy. HTH
