DJ prices

I have gotten the same DJ recommendation from my photographer and my caterer who are both great.  I dont know much about pricing for DJ's though.  They are asking $1295 for 6 hours of music (ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception), lighted dj setup, and additional light at venue.

Does anyone have any feed back on that price??

Re: DJ prices

  • i think that sounds about right.
my dj (ubi) was 600 for the reception and an additional 150 if i wanted to add him for cocktail hour (which we didnt).
he also had lighting packages - a basic one color up-light pacakage will be at least 250. and would go up depening on quantitiy and of course if you wanted multi color lights or monogram included.
  • That's about what we're paying, so sounds good to me!

  • That's almost exactly what I'm paying for the same thing!

  • I think that's a great deal, especially because your lighting is included.
  • that's in the range I am getting as well. and it includes lighting, which is great! :-)
  • I'm using Kenny Mondo and he is $750 for 6 hours. Check him out. I also got other quotes as low as $95 an hour so look around.

  • I would talk to them about the price, if you don't negotiate they will just give you the standard price. I am paying 800 for 6 hours ceremony, cocktail, and reception in 3 separate rooms. 25 uplights, gobo, dance floor party lights and an illuminated DJ booth.

I'm using one of the more popular companies on the boards and when I initially spoke to them they quoted me 1100 ish and we negotiated.

Thanks everyone for the advice! i plan on trying to negotiate and have him break down the costs within the package because looks like there maybe something i might not need being its an outdoor venue
  • Sounds reasonable to me for the most part!

  • I personally think thats a lot. I paid la lot less than that and it included a lighted DJ setup & lights on the ceiling. Cake spot light. MC/DJ Ceremony & Reception for 5 hours.

Try Dj. Stephen Peters. He has everything you need & can customize your package. We  had him at our wedding and he was awesome!!  I haven't given my official review yet but I can say that everyone had an awesome time on the dance floor. He's super nice and was very attentive. I highly recommened him.
