INEXPENSIVE VENUES!

I am having a really reallly really hard time on this one. I have posted about it before but I want to hear all the recommendations out there! PLEASE. Looking for an inexpensive venue for 150 ppl, but NO BANQUET HALLS in Miami.

It has to be inside because the wedding is in May 2013. Do any of you have any suggestions?

I am getting married in St. Kevins Church in miami.

another thing when you say inexpensive! whats is inexpensive to you?
  • 20,000 for the entire wedding for 150 ppl. Video, Photo, Car, Flowers, DJ, everything included.
  • I would try the Bank of America Tower in Downtown Miami - i think the place is called Sky Lounge has both indoor and outdoor. Rusty Pelician has wonderful wedding space and their sunset is absolutely gorgeous. You're cutting it very close with the food/cocktail hour/reception/open bar.

What about the Doral Marriott I've seen some of their packages starting at $85.00 per person plus taxes and gratuity. I would try them out. Ask for Diana Sarmiento, tell her Diane referred you.

OB/GYN=expertise in pregnancy/labor; RE=expertise in getting pregnant. (read this on someone's post, feel free to PM me to give you credit) I'm so glad I have a RE on my team. Consult a RE after 1 year under 35yo; 6 months 35yo+
  • I looked into the Rusty and it is $150 a plate. I looked at the Bank of America and its out of our league because it doesn't come with the flowers, dj, pic/video, car, favors, etc. I loved BOA tower, gorgeous, but it won't be under 20,000 for 150 ppl. the Marriot is about the same, I just saw their packages and they are $93 the cheapest plate.

If you don't mind driving out to Key Biscayne, you can try the Links in Key Biscayne.  Beautiful golf course setting with an indoors clubhouse.  HTH!

If you dont mind Broward, I did mine at Jacaranda country club in Plantation and it was amazing. Very reasonable pricing as well. We also looked at the Plantation Golf Club, also in broward, and Hillcrest country club in Hollywood. All had equally beautiful surroundings (we wanted nice, outdoor photos) and were all budget friendly.

  • Just because their packages start at $93 doesn't mean that you can't negoitate with them. Try a lower cut of meat, maybe do a 4 appetizers instead of 5. Do Beer/Wine for the cocktail hour and then open bar - there are a lot of other options. May is a big wedding month

  • I second the Shane Center! Great location that is right next to the water and you can bring in all of your own vendors. You will have more than enough space for 150 guests. However, if your wedding is on a Friday then maybe the distance (mostly traffic) will be a disadvantage.

    Here are some other options:
    - The Fire Tower
    - Palmetto Bay Village Center
    - Coral Gables Women's Club
    - Sonesta Bayfront Hotel
  • Try Tonys in Hialeah, also Paradise
  • I am really trying to stay away from banquet hall style.
  • I an also getting married in St Kevin, and u went to many different venues. I ended up picking a banquet hall, because it was a lot easier when all inclusive packages were concerned.. Just so you know, I'm having it at Atlantis Reception Hall (i think they changed their name already to Kendall Reception Hall..but my serving choice was Doral Park County Club. Beautiful location, prices were relatively reasonable. I was completely against banquet halls too, but they're gently more affordable, and the one I picked doesn't look like one once you walk in. another location I'd recommend is Coco Plum, more expensive, but stunning!

  • Went to Cocoplum yesterday...BEAUTIFUL venue!  Just what I am looking for...however, for their package (includes flowers, DJ, photo or video, linens, cake...) you must have at least 100 people attending.  My wedding will be a lot smaller, so, unfortunately I won't be able to have it there.  Anyway, the price was $115 pp. with all of the above included.  It might work for you since you are having 150 in attendence.  It's def. a "must see"!  Good luck!
