Tooth Whiteing Before Wedding?

Anyone have suggestions for tooth whitening before wedding?  My dentist says he should do a tooth polishing right before?  Any ideas?  TIA

I just decided not to pay the big bucks for the whitening after FI had his done at his dentists office and they didnt look that much whiter than before!!! I used (the super expensive) crest whitestrips and they really worked for me.  I asked all the girls in my office with really white teeth where they had their teeth whitened and they all said they used crest strips.  My teeth arent super white but everyone has been able to tell the difference!!!

when i signed up at costcos i received 4 free crest whitening strips the new ones that came out that sort of mold to your teeth. well the 4 covered my teeth twice, and i saw a difference just from two days.obviously it didnt last long, but i plan on purchasing those before the wedding possibly a month or so before.

As someone in the dental field - I would say it depends on how much discoloration you are trying to remove.

My FI had really bad dental care as a child and his teeth were not so hot when we met... So he will be having a second bout of Professional Whitening.

If your teeth are seriously stained... heavy coffee drinker, smoker etc (if you can keep from smoking for a day or so!) or you want a celebrity white smile... this would be your best option. This actually removes the deeper stains and whitens the teeth but can be annoying to your gums (if you have sensitive gums or if you sleep in them overnight). I personally like the trays with NightWhite gel best. These typically run anywhere from $100-$400. But that is a one time fee for your trays to be made and a starter kit of whitener. Replacement whitening tubes usually cost about $30-60 for 2-3 tubes which can last 6mon or more depending on usage.

If you already have nice, just slightly dingy (off-white or mother of pearl, remember that commercial with all the kids saying what color their teach's teeth were?  :) ) teeth... the Crest whitestrips do help and are much more affordable. They don't cause much aggitation and range from $10-$40 (the new strips stay in place longer/better and don't leave as nasty of a taste in your mouth after you remove them.

Personally, I will not recommend ZOOM. I did it when there was a special on it and I feel like I wasted $200! It whitened my teeth ALOT, but was very quick to re-stain. You can't drink coffee, red wine, soda or have berries or chocolate or pasta for something like 48 hours, which is crazy! Also if they don't prep you well, you can burn your gums which is no fun. Zoom last I checked ranged from $200-$500 depending on where you go and how many sessions you want. I did 3 and didn't notice results like I got from Trays.
