Cigar Roller? yay or nay?

I'm torn...

I would like to have a cigar roller at our wedding....as a surprise for Garrett..he would love it.

But I'm afraid it will take away from the wedding...guys going outside to smoke them..coming back smelling like cigars....we also have a photobooth already booked.  That will definetely take away from the reception...but I still want it.

Thoughts?

I also love the idea of a cigar roller, but didn't want to deal with the smell (I'm allergic to smoke).  From your ticker it looks like you are having a large wedding, so I wouldn't worry about it taking people away from your reception too much, you know what I mean?  I think the cigar rollers are really cool though.

Have you thought about maybe buying a few boxes of really good cigars.  You can have them set up towards the end with personalized matches.  It's something I am considering at my wedding.  It will cost less and won't take away from the wedding! HTH

WHat about having it just during the cocktail hour and then having the roller bring extras so everyone will get one.  No one will know they weren't made onsite

It purley depends on your crowd, actually. I know my mum would beat me with my own bouquet if I had a cigar roller. If Garrett would like it, then go for it! Shannon has a good point, the cocktail hour thingy.
  • My fiance always wanted one but now he knows it is pretty unrealistic.  We have far less people than you though.  We decided to just buy nice cigars to be place at the bars for the men to smoke during cocktail hour, which is outside.  Perhaps you can consider that.  It is much less expensive, and I don't think it is going to be something anyone will miss not seeing.  But I would say if you get one, it should be during cocktail hour.

The cigar roller is an amazing price!  $300 for 2 hours....I contacted 8 other cigar rollers and they all started at $575 and went up!

This guy was referred to me by Tiffany....so the price is right for 100 cigars.

I wanted only 1 hour for cocktail...but no cigar guy does an hour...so now it will be for the one hour of cocktail and the first hour of the reception (7-9pm) then the photobooth starts from 9-midnight.

I guess I could find about 100 cigars and leave them by the bars....for less than $300..

    I'm just torn....ugh.

I'm definitely having a cigar roller. My reception is outside by the water and there are areas where the smokers could hang out without bothering the non-smokers.  Do you think you could send me the contact info of that roller w/ the amazing price, Dee? my email is remycapko@gmail.com

    Gracias!!
