Having a panic attack...

Ok, so, I've been engaged 3 months almost, and not even close to picking a venue.  I'm going to have an Indian wedding and am set on hiring outside caterers.  However, I can't find a venue that will allow outside catering.  I want a hotel on SoBe/Brickell (not interested in Eden Roc or Ritz - the only 2 places on the beach that seem to cater).

Now, I guess once I find a venue I'm intersted in, I have to look at numbers and negotiate?  How do I negotiate this stuff?

I've heard Sunday weddings are cheaper, and I certainly don't mind a Sunday weding if its a 3 day holiday weekend.  But again, how do I negotiate this?

Maybe I shouldn't even think of negotiating right now?  I should just take it one step at a time and actually find a venue first?

I'm so lost!  Someone please guide me.  I need someone to actually guide me step by step and keep me motivated.  Any guidance will help.  Thanks!

Yea, the majority of hotels dont allow outside caterers.

I would say negotiating goes hand in hand with finding a venue.

The way i did it was; i made a Folder. I called all the venues that i was interested in and told them to email me their packages, i put them all in a folder separated by tabs. I studied each one and looked at things i could negotiate. Ex. If i brought my own cake, how much will that deduct, if i had 4 servers instead of 5, Sunday versus sat.. i would write everything down before going and then when i met with them i would negotiate. This helped me narrow my choice in venues. HTH!
