In need of a venue!

I recently found the venue of my dreams, the smART space on 78th in Cleveland. However, my fiance did not have the same reaction. I have been searching for venues for a month now in the Cleveland area and am exhausting my options. Please help!

My fiance and I are not traditional. We are looking for a location where we can both get married and have our reception. I do not want to get married in a hotel ballroom. I would prefer a unique space.

We are on a tight budget and I'm beginning to believe I have unrealistic hopes for my venue. My checklist would be to find a place that has outdoor/indoor option, you can bring your own cateror or they have a large selection of preferred, and you have freedom with decorations/time frame/ etc.

Does anyone have any ideas for me? I need HELP!

  • Take a look at places like the natural history museum, the rock and roll hall of fame, or the science center. I love all of those options and a wedding at any of those places would be amazing. We are going with a country rustic theme or else we would be at one of those iconic downtown locations !

  • What about the new Cleveland aquarium? I have no idea about pricing though.

  • What about the botanical gardens? I know they have indoor/outdoor space, not sure of the cost though.

  • The botanical gardens is quite expensive.  We looked at having our wedding there 5 years ago.  To rent the garden area for the ceremony for 45 minutes was just under $2000.  Plus, no chairs are available so guests have to stand during the ceremony.
  • What about the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo or Glidden House?
  • i don't know how 'tight' of a budget you have, but most (if not all) of the more unique sites in town are priced a little more, just because they're so different from the norm. You may want to consider locations further away from downtown in order to get something different for a great price. How many guests are you thinking? Smaller unique venues are a lot easier to come by than large ones.

  • Windows on the River is beautiful and I think they are somewhat reasonable as far as price go. I hope this helps.
