photography and videographer?

Sooo do they have to get along??? i had a conversation with photographer and i think she trying to recommend a videographer she has worked in the past which is fine n its someone i considered also but money wasnt right (she called and  asked  if they had my day available and told him to take care of me $$ wise) but SHouldnt the photographer be fine with whoever I choose. I dont know if there was bad blood in the past but as professional they should just work together right hummm what do u guys think?

My opinion is that your photographer and videographer don't even have to know each other. BUT from speaking with SO SO SO many of both, I realized it's not for their benefit as much as for yours.  Realize that these two people are going to be capturing your every moment together.  SO it just works so much better when they are a good team and get along. There are so many times when them working together and inspiring each other is important - from both of them  catching good angles of you walking down the aisle (and being out of each other's way) to when you're taking pictures of just you and your hubby and they are being creative - I think it just works better when they get along.

For me, although I wasn't looking for them to even know each other, it turns out that my photographer and videographer have worked together multiple times in the past and really enjoy working together.  they both say about each other "he's great and so creative and it just makes the moments I capture that much better when I'm working with someone like him" ... although I picked both independently of the other, it turns out that they recommend each other if a bride askd for a recommendation!

    HTH!

I ended up going with the videographer that our photog recommended, but not because she rec. them.  It is good for them to get along, but ultimately it is up to you who you choose.

Some of them give discounts though if you have a certain photog or whatever because they refer each other so much.

My photog and video guy do not know each other and met for the first time when we did our e-pic shoot.  They seems to work fine.

My photog (Alex from Candidly Elegant) and video (Marty and Kenya from Reinhardt Productions) didn't know each other and it worked really well. I think your photographer could recommend people, but obviously should be a professional and work with whoever you choose!!

    Yes & no.

If they're professionals, they'll make the ride really smooth, they'll both deliver great products at the ened of the day.

But also, it's like working with your best friend. You know their way of moving around with a camera, you know he's going to shoot from left to right, or if he's going to need two extra seconds on the floor shooting the dancefoor, you know what I mean?
