ft lauderdale

Any input on economical beach venues ?  Can be diy beach followed by a restaurant catering close by or hotel with services.  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

  • Check out John U. Lloyd State Park.  Their venue fee was very inexpensive (<$500).   Other than that you bring everything in yourself so you can make it whatever price you can.

  • food pricing wise, Sheraton Fort Lauderdale Beach I have found to be the cheapest for the hotel aspect ... but they have been so hard for me to get in contact with...their website gives you very minimal information. I went there this past weekend to try and get a booklet, and my fiance had to ask 5 different people, and then he only got a business card with a name -- no phone number or email or nothing. Kinda thinking about crossing them off the list.

the easiest for me to get info from was Deerfield Beach Resort by Wyndham and Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach. Marybeth (Deerfield Beach Resort) and Brittany (Hilton Ft. Lauderdale Beach) have been super quick to respond and very helpful.

DIY, I have heard the permit for a beach wedding is upwards of $400  now. Plus you would have all your rental stuff, etc. Whereas, the packages for the resorts are including the rentals, permit, etc.

The venues I have mentioned I am currently looking into. There are several others (i.e.: Pelican Grand, The Westin, B Ocean, etc.) in fort lauderdale along the beach... but for me and my budget, they are just too pricey. I think it really depends on your budget which places you should look into. I was going to go to all of them, but scratched that (bright) idea and am going to places which are within our budget that I somehow came up with, which is still too much!
