Hi Everyone!!! I just got engaged! My mother passed away a year ago and my dad three! So I am doing most of the planning myself!!!! Sometimes I hate bothering other people but so excited to be able to talk to other brides about stuff!!!! I am having a beach wedding and do not even know where to start!!!!!

    Congrats and welcome to the board! So sorry to hear about your parents :( but we are a supportive board so don't be shy to ask!

    My first suggestion (and most important) is to sit down with your FI and discuss what your wedding budget will be. It is very important to see how much of an investment you two are willing, comfortable, and can make towards your wedding.

    If you already have a wedding budget set, then discuss possible wedding dates. This way you will have an idea when you want your wedding to be and when you go venue shopping. If you already have a wedding date then start researching on possible wedding venues and start getting an idea as to how you want your dress to be.

    Congrats and welcome to the south florida board! What pp said is very good advice to get you started. And if you have any venue/vendor questions or anything feel free to post them, I picked my dj based off of what another knottie wrote and we are super excited about him! GL with the planning!
