Cocktail Reception Locations

I would like to do heavy hor d'oeuvres, drinks and cake. Does anyone know of any locations for something like this for under 150 people?

If you're doing heavy h'ors d'ouevres to save money, know that depending on what you intend to serve, you might not save much money vs. a full meal. You may want to price both out and see what works for you.

Anyway, some places you may want to check out: Strongsville Rec. Center, Middleburg Hts. Rec center (BYOC), Grand Pacific Hotel in Olmsted Falls, Carrie Cerino's, Lake Erie Nature & Science Ctr in Bay Village, Rose Cafe in Lorain, Ruby's Hall in Grafton, Atrium on the Square downtown, Massimo's near downtown, 100th Bomb Group in Brook Park, etc.

Thanks for the suggestions.  That's a good point; I have been doing both.  I want to explore it as an option.  It doesn't seem that popular and I'm back to the beginning for finding a venue.

I totally agree with Julie... Sometimes meals can end up less expensive.  I think it's an urban myth that buffets are the cheapest way to go.  Not always true!  You actually have MORE food which often times costs more!

I really, really like the idea of a cocktail reception.  My one word of advice is to make sure you put it on your invite that you will not be serving a full meal.  Say something like "join us for cocktails and hors d'oeuvres" or something like that!

As for locations, you may actually want to look into a more unique location, since you won't be going the traditional route.  Think about Great Lakes Science Center, House of Blues, Botanical Garden, etc.
