Coatian Lodge in Eastlake

I am getting married next October and have a large guest list. I am planning on about 325 people so my choices are limited. I am from the east side- eastern Lake county so I prefer not to go into Cleveland. Has anyone ever been to this facility for a wedding? I met with the owner and she was very friendly but she didn't seem like she would be very helpful with planning. The price was great and I liked the look of the hall. Any reviews or past experience?

I have been to a million weddings there. It is nice. Especially the remodeling, bathrooms are very pleasant. The food is not going to be the super facy type that you would see at a Country Club. More comfort foods. They also have family style, which affords the guests the opportunity of taking more or less food.  The coordinator there is very flexible, as long as your requests are not unreasonable. But she is available for questions and will help you. I have liked all the receptions that I have gone to there. Plus, you can't be the price!

(325 is not that big for for Croatian hall. :o) Shocker, they can have a bunch more, 500. You are going to have an absolutely wonderful wedding reception there ;o)

I've been to a wedding there.  It was nice - it was a winter wedding and there were white lights and christmas trees.  The food is ok, in my opinion.

I'm a Lake county wedding too.  Mine is at the Patrician, also in Eastlake.  They can hold well over 325 people and have a really nice setup.  I absolutely love the Patrician and the staff is really nice.

Another suggestion would be LaMalfa.  We spoke with Marty there and I did not really care for him, but have been to several weddings there and they are always beautiful.  They can accomodate a large wedding also.

Check out LaVera too.  they are in Willoughby Hills.  I think their prices are reasonable and the hall is pretty.

    Thanks for the help!
I went to one event there and got to try the food. It wasn't very fancy but it was good comfort food and my FI and I liked the idea for late fall to have that type of family style comfort. I had just wished the owner was a little more outgoing and helpful- we are meeting with her again next week to sign a contract so I am hoping she is better then.

My date is Oct 22 2011.
I have been to a wedding at Patrician before and they were wonderful! I really like the man that runs the facility. He seems so helpful and receptive to helping the bride!

I'm Oct 7, 2011.  It's cool to have a bride planning her wedding in the same exact area and almost the same exact time!  I'm sure everything will work out just fine with the lady at the Croation Lodge - when you meet with her next week and if you don't get a good vibe or don't think she will be helpful, at least you know there are  other reception venues in the area that you can always check out.  Let us know how it goes!

PS  - where is your ceremony?

I agree with everyone, nothing fancy with the food....plus sharing a restroom with another wedding was not nice!

Before you book next week do yourself a favor check out Berkshire Hills County Club http://www.berkshirehills.com/ I booked there for oct.8 2011. can fit up to 500 guests, price was right, she makes all her food from scratch (yummy) The site does not do it justice trust me check this one out! Tell her Carol Candow refered you, not that I will get anything extra I just want her to know that her outstanding customer service has made me loyal.

My ceremony is ay my church in Perry. St Cyprians

    I have a new update......
My mom went with me for the second appointment- we were supposed to sign the contract and put down a deposit and it went terrible! My mom had a lot of questions about the logistics.....liability insurance, bar tenders...so on and the lady that runs the hall did not seem happy at all. My mom and her really didn't get along!! It was very uncomfortable sitting in the meeting!!! The lady started saying "no" to all of my moms questions even before my mom could finish her sentence!!
SO.... we went  to St Noel's in Willoughby Hills and met with the man that runs the Banquet center and we loved him! I have heard wonderful things about their food and they were all so helpful!! My FI was really happy with them and I think we might end up going there. It isn't as nice as the hall at the Croatian Lodge but I think it's better than having to deal with the aggravation!

My brother's reception was at the croatain. The price is great! Check the table cloths etc earlier in the day though The head table had black stains on them and they were supposed ot have blue napkins and they didn't have enough so some people had white. They also served us the wrong chicken plate. It was still good of course! The wait staff is a little rude here too. If you are looking for a good price this is the place though!
I love st Noel though! I have had all good experiences there I think that is where I am going to pick as well!

I am so torn - I am getting married next June, 2012.  I am trying to decide between the Croatian Lodge and Berkshire Hills.  Berkshire is a bit more expensive (We're trying to keep our budget at $10,000 for food/liquor/gratuity/tax/etc.)  I met with Sharon at Berkshire - she is so, so friendly.  I also went to the Croatian Lodge.  I ate in the restaurant (the food was not that good, which is TERRIFYING).  I heard the C.L. has two kitchens - one for weddings, one for their restaurant.  The C.L. is leaps and bounds more affordable than Berkshire Hills...but I don't want to settle on a place that has mediocre food, just to save a buck.  We could have 120 people at Berkshire Hills in our budget.  We could have almost 140 at the Croatian Lodge!  I need your help - is the Croatian Lodge's food good enough to pass up Berkshire??  Gaaaaa
