Ok, I'm a little uneasy. Here's the deal:

Most of you know I'm getting married in NY. Our venue is called The Fox Hollow and so far they have been beyond awesome. Until now.

The catering director who we originally booked with (and who was with FH for like 19 years) left. In comes this new guy who is a douche and a half. Pardon my french. I called today to schedule tastings for cake and our menu items. According to the director they don't do tastings. Really? We have seven items on our menu, I'm paying up the tush in extras and you won't do the right thing and let me TASTE me food? Then I asked about cake which is made by a baker off site, typical... except she doesn't offer tasting either! He said I'd have to buy a small cake. HOW in the HECK am I supposed to know what I like!? 

I'm so annoyed! Lol.

I'd be furious. There was a catering company in Stuart I wanted to go with, and I LOVE their menu, it's so perfect, and she said they don't do tastings, they "rely on their reputation in the community, and that's what they've done for 25 years". So I told her to shove it and walked out.

Oh I'm so sorry ~ I would be super annoyed too.  How are you supposed to know what you are getting????? I hope they work something out for you.

Oh Hellz to NO!! Get on that horn and let him know it is NOT going down like that, girl do we need to take a drive upstate, matter fact hope on a plane to deal with this douche, really really sir. UMMM I need for you to understand before your doucheness came along we were able to schedule a tasting, you can either honor that or I will see your arse on People's Court and I bash you from here to Mexico.

They gave us a free dinner when we first booked, but their restaurant items and my menu items are ALL different. I'm going to call him back soon and biitch him out. Lol.

OH HELL no!!!!  It's bridezilla time!!!

You may have to get stern and talk to a higher person at the venue b/c they must do a tasting for you. This is a must and the answer they gave you is unacceptable. *Every* venue that wants business offers a tasting.

Update: Bakery is offering us a tasting. Will call Thursday to schedule.

GIVE TESS A TASTING, DOUCHE! It's basic math, you have to test their food specially if you're paying good money. wtf? No tasting my arse. Call, or you know what? I'LL call and start yelling in Spanish.

glad to hear the cake is giving you a tasting. But that douche better let you do a food tasting. WTH!!  Especiallt you have 7 things from the menu. Good luck and keep us posted.

Tess this is ridic. My sisters bff used to be a catering director for fox hollow and I"m sure they used to have tastings. It's bull that they would try and expect you to not do one. You'll get it, just have to kick and scream a bit. Hope this douche gets the boot before your wedding!

ive never heard of that kind of insanity. Is there someone else you can speak to...everyone has a boss unless they own the company. I'd find out who cuts his check and speak to that person! thats crapola

Thats a bunch of crap, I would def. call and ask for one and be like I was promised one before and now I cant get it b/c your new. If he cant do a tasting ask him to do a complimentary dinner and bring like 5 ppl with you and you all order a different thing and try them all. GL and hope you get it squared away.

This is ridiculous! why won't' they let you have a tasting!????? ughhhhhh so annoying! Sorry you're going through this...but yay for cake tasting
