Wedding cake problems

We are in the final stages of planning our June wedding and have yet to find a baker to make our wedding cake.  We are on a tight budget and have a small wedding, only about 80 people.  Can anyone help with suggestions?

Have you considered the grocery stores? Giant Eagle, Heinen's, Buehler's (Medina area) all make cakes and they are pretty darn good, too. If you have your heart set on using a stand-alone bakery shop, Breads & Beyond charges $1.85/slice for standard flavors and their cakes are very good. That's who we used and were quite pleased.

Also, you might consider just doing a small 'cutting cake' for you and DH (for the photos) and a sheet cake (which would be cut/plated in the kitchen) to feed the guests. Keep in mind though, that the more decorations you have ON the cake and the fancier you get (i.e. fondant or intricate designs), the more it will cost you in labor. A simple design in buttercream will save you $$.

    Good luck!

    Hi!
If you are on the west side you can try wild flour bakery.  Its super yummy!  The cakes are $2.75-$3.75 a slice for non-fondant.  They are super are there.  They even send you home with a sample box.

Also try Becker's in Fairview Park and Rito's in Brunswick, both very good and reasonable.
